Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released) — Page 162

Okay, now I can review .....

Out of both movies, Star Wars OT is the best improvement hands down.  My happiness was gauged by the inclusion of DTS for both films.

The SE Star Wars was a bit diffused in a fair amount of places.  It was most apparent in the Jundland Wastes sequence.  The initial pan-down in to the valley did not fair well at all in motion.  It continued all the way up to R2 getting nabbed by the Jawas.  I was glad to see that Mos Eisley was no longer that pink shade which has troubled most home video releases of it.

The menus were a nice treat.  They added a special touch to the discs.  The artwork was nice.  A little under-done in my opinion but great for ink savers.  In the info file, Silverwook and his invisible donator should get credit as they were the ones who passed the ANH/ROTJ DTS discs on to me for decoding.  ESB was acquired by myself afterwards to complete the set.

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised at what was accomplished with the source material.  Certainly an upgrade from what they were beforehand.

Thanks to TeamBlu for taking it on.  You achieved some nice results here.

Thank you Team Blu for the effort of creating these gems! Image quality is better than can be expected considering the source material. The audio is truly amazing. I'm an OOT guy and despise the "OT" Blu-ray release but I'm actually excited to see the 1997 SE from start to finish. Can't wait for your OOT as well as 1997 SE Empire and Jedi!

Fez: I am so excited about Star Whores.
Hyde: Fezzy, man, it's Star Wars.

Outstanding work Team Blu! What's the ETA on the theatrical version of Empire and Jedi? I can't wait to see the whole trilogy in this kind of quality.

I've registered and posted on their boards 2 days ago asking for an invite. So far, no answer. Do they normally take this long?

P.S. Not that I'm impatient, but I've been waiting for over a year for this project. Cannot wait to see it and bask in its awesomeness.

Hey guys - congratulations on finishing the first third of this awesome project!

I only had the chance to skim through it so far but it looks great! You've certainly come a long way here since 2006! I really like what you've done with the 97SE too and it's great that there's finally a project with the DTS audio connected to it.

I haven't had chance to check it out yet, but thanks to everyone involved in making this project preservation. From the brief pieces of footage and screenshots I have seen over the past few years, it's really amazing what you have done with the sources you had to work with.

Thank you Harmy!

And a huge thanks to everyone for appreciating what we've done so far. We know that things have moved slowly but we've also been doing a lot of side projects so that's part of the reason. I've had a cold for about a week and a half now, so reading all the nice comments and reviews makes me feel a little better.

I agree, twenty requests for invites a day in every popular thread are annoying. But that's not even the fault of these guys, registering on OT.com and then asking for myspleen invite in the only way to get certain edits/preservations. They are just some dudes, who get excited about certain project, and start asking for directions when they can't find it on TPB. The one you replied to probably just wants to get the movie before the weekend.

As for hit'n'running, it's not even an issue on Myspleen. All popular torrents are stocked with of high speed seeders. I rarely even get to seed anything, someone who gets the release can leave his client for a week and not send a single megabyte.

Thanks to those tracking numbers, I now know where Mielr lives.  You might want to remove them from the forum and just send PMs.

In case you're curious, I just put the tracking number into each of the typical delivery service's websites until I got a hit.
