Wow, that's fucking amazing, ady! Keep up the good work!

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

10 minutes of awesome!!

My roommate heard sounds of merriment coming from my room while I was watching this. He thought I was looking at porn... lol

Keep up the great work, Ady! You tease ;)

It's hard to tell due to the compressed nature of the upload, but in your trying to reverse some of the black crushing/gain lowering of the blu-rays, are you inadvertently making visible some of the compression artifacts that existed in the black parts of the image? As mentioned I can't tell if it's due to the upload or if it's because of the blu-ray compression.

I never doubted you for a second. Wonderful! :D

Also, I loved how the colors match between the blaster action shots and the lightsaber duel. Orange/blue.

Yeah, he's been working on this for 6 years and is going to be ok with creating new image degradation...

Great job as usual Ady. Any chance you could upload an HD version somewhere?

Loved every second! ...is 3PO's voice being remixed?

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Have you a link so I can save it and upload it to vimeo?

I haven't tried to reverse the crushed blacks because i don't like the artefacts it creates. What part did you notice this on? If you can post a screenshot from the video i can post an uncompressed image.

I'm not looking at the image on my grading display at the moment so it might just be due to the calibration this monitor has, but to my eye the macro-blocking on your grade seems to be a little more visible than the blu-ray.

Beautiful job Ady (as always)

That's a great link, thanks for posting.

So many little things to enjoy in those ten minutes, although I would never have noticed that the correct side of Slave 1 is now showing if I hadn't read about it first! :-)

Great work Ady, many thanks!

That's the Cloud City the child version of me thought he saw!

(^ Pretty much how those 10 minutes and 53 seconds made me feel)

Thanks Adywan :-)

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

Couldn't of said it better. That is what prepubescent teenage boners are made of.

I always wished the BD would have looked as cool as this edit - but the comparison makes the "last print" seem like a concept art, only to be finished with better effects later ...

can't wait to watch this baby on my BIG screen *g*

That has to stay as a flipped shot for continuity. Not all mistakes can be fixed

Well, that's fine. For the great amount of fixes that we're getting, this shot can pass unnoticed.

I'm also wondering if there will be an in-depth "vfx breakdown" -or even better: a masterclass- in the bonus features. Simple tools like AE and Photoshop can do wonders. I mean, no complicated node-based compositing software like Nuke was used during this fan edit, right?

I wouldn't exactly call Photoshop and After Effects "simple tools." :-)

Photoshop and After Effects are standard industry tools, which were used on movies like Avatar or Iron Man.

I personally find the node based programs like Nuke and the old Apple 'Shake' really difficult to fathom. Not that I can use even After Effects mind you, but I understand it in principle.

yeh, there is a little more noise in the Revisited version. But i'm not too bothered about it. I'd take a little noise like that over how bad the blu-rays look any day.

Ah that's much better. I guess the facebook compression took the film grain and created those artifacts. I can just barley see some h.264 compression artifacts in the dark areas due to the brightness increase, but that being I'm sure it will look fine in motion.
