Tough to image how this can be a big thing to anybody. Unless you're an OT purist through-and-through, the whole Star Wars mythology is one giant mess even if only movies are considered - let alone all the books and games, and TV shows. Saying there's continuity in Star Wars is like saying there's no steroids in professional sports.

On top of that, EU has always been just fan-fiction. Better funded, better marketed - yes - but still fan fiction. So if you're a Star Wars fan with a Star Wars story - in the world of EU - you're on the same ground as everyone else.

So be it a comic book by Darkhorse, an animated show on Cartoon Network, a fan-[re]written Episode II script posted on OriginalTrilogy.com or a 5 minute long YouTube video about the origins of Darth Maul shot by a bunch of 8th graders -  at the end of the day, the quality of the story is what matters, what will make your story "count", become "canon" to people.

You gotta good SW story? Let me hear it and take it into consideration. That's how EU should work and how it  has worked for me. So they can reboot it all they want, I will keep pick-and-choosing the stories I like anyway.

P.S. With all this said, though, I like what Disney is doing. It will give EU a bit more focus.
