Jedi is "to eat" in Croatian, Serbian etc, but the pronunciation is nothing like you'd say it. :) Things like that happen sometimes. You know that German company "Osram", which makes lightbulbs and whatnot? In Polish this word literally means shitting on something...

To be more precise (and why wouldn't we be more precise if it's going to be more amusing that way) it's more of a confirmation or possibly even a declaration of one's intent to shit on something. It could even be used standalone to re-assure someone that you will, indeed, crap on whatever it is you were supposed to crap on. And so on, and so forth.

So if you treat "Osram" as a verb, the phrase "Osram lightbulbs", or "zarowki Osram" in Polish basically looks like an offer to cover said lightbulbs in feces, possibly as a service in exchange for money (you'd use that phrase if you offered such service in a newspaper add, to name one context).

Yup, it never ceases to amuse me. Language is a wonderful thing.
