Because George was involved of course. =P

Oh, and it did happen. They even got Mark Hamill to voice him.

I would have preferred that look for Bane over the stupid bald Alice Cooper look he's currently saddled with.

That's only a helmet... he could still be bald underneath it. :D

An inconsistency exists over whether or not the great schism that spawned the Sith was the First Great Schism.

 Alice Cooper is bald?

 Alice Cooper is bald?

Of course... he is bald, pale, has facial tattoos and uses red lightsabre.

The "bald Alice Cooper" comparison I make is based on Bane's facial tattoos

which are virtually identical to the makeup Cooper often wears around his eyes

At this point I must stress that there nothing about this look that give you the reason to call it PT-era Sith. Three out of four PT Sith were not bald, had no tattoos and none of them was abnormally pale.

Pale face, yellow eyes, baldness and red lightsabre all came from OT.

Maybe the Alice Cooper thing is a homage?

I think I'm experiencing a time loop, 'cause I keep getting this message over and over and over again ...

Is this the entire list now?

Hopefully, at some point they'll clear it up and or entirely reinvent Bane's line. I have no problem with that as most of the sith from Bane to Plagueis are unused.

Hopefully, they'll included a Darth Sipid and Darth Ane in the new lineup.

At one point during the development of TPM, GL envisioned the Sith wearing armour and masks like Vader, not cloaks like Palpatine. It seems that that concept was revisited for Bane in TCW.

In 2001, this was the entire list:

  • Sith Race
  • "New Sith", which lasted 1000 years
  • Darth Bane's Pair o' Siths, leading to Darth Vader
  • Brotherhood of the Sith (Exar + Krath)

This list, combined with Star Wars being Haydenless, makes me nostalgic

Kinda neat, but why doesn't it line up with the other images/toys/covers we've seen of him?

I wouldn't have cared, but wouldn't a lot of people complain at great length if that had happened?

I guess GL thought the orbalisks looked silly.

GL made Jar Jar. He forfeited his right to judge what is silly or not.

I am what all Jedi fear to become, and what all Sith wish to be. A GOD!

GL's opinions aside, do you think that EU Bane looked silly?

He looks alright. I like the way he looked in TCW. Although, being a specter I doubt that's how he looked when alive.

What doesn't make sense to me about the Sith is that the master indoctrinates the apprentice in an ideology that makes them want to kill the master and teaches the apprentice the skills that they need to kill the master. Being a Sith master is suicide.

^That's part of the reason why I dislike the Rule of Two and -- by extension -- the modern incarnation of the Sith. The premise that they're so emotionally unstable and PURE EVUL that they'd wipe themselves out through infighting if there were more than two of them at a time is completely ludicrous.

The problem that I referred to was very much present before TPM was released. Vader and Palpatine beg Luke to try to kill them, Kun uses the dark side to kill Nadd, and Ulic uses the dark side to kill Satal.
