Nice ideas, for sure, but there are a couple of points in favor of standard menus.

The big one is that, with so many audio tracks, it'd be far nicer to have them fully listed and selectable.

The other factor is home theater systems. Many have the player rack mounted. You wouldn't want the thing to just start rolling before you are ready to sit down and settle in to watch it.

I'm still curious why multi avchd isn't "hackable" to extend its audio menu. There's got to be a way to change it above 16 or whatever.
