I can't decide if I want to see TAS2.

I think I'm somewhat unique in finding the first Raimi Spiderman entirely bland, the second Raimi Spiderman so bad that I nearly walked out of the cinema (Never bothered with S3) but I really enjoyed TAS1, however, it didn't linger long in the mind.

Reviews of TAS2 have been mixed (They were mixed for TAS1 as well) but the footage I've seen looks great.

? To spend or not to spend ?

In these cases I always just wait and rent the DvD for a $1 at red box.  Theaters are not nice enough any more that going to them is an event in and of it's self so unless I have been waiting to see a movie $12 is a little steep for seeing it once.

I'm so glad I live where I do. You guys are always full of stories about how terrible your theaters are. Here we have a local chain that has dominated the entire state. The theaters are well managed, clean and the patrons are respectful for the most part. Always great crowds during midnight releases.

Yeah it used to be that way here but my state is so small that there is only one theater in my county.  It used to be well managed but since Caremike's took over it's gotten more dirty, there are long adds in front of the movies, the screen sometimes has smudges on it,and the chairs get broken and go months between repairs.

I wish we had a nice local theater to attend.  Hollywood wants to know why they are taking a hit at the box office? It's because movie tickets now cost more then half the price of a Bluray disc and going to the theater isn't fun any more. Lower the price and improve the quality of the theaters and I would go to more movies. Until then I will wait for them to turn up in Redbox where I pay a flat rate and can watch them more then once in the comfort of my living room with as many people as I want.

Yeah i really hope Dr.Strange happens in some form.

That would be great. His name was mentioned very briefly in Winter Soldier so there could be a hint there.

Really?  I must have missed that.

Well there is something to look for when I watch it on Bluray.  Here is hoping the Dr.Strange movie happens.

Yeah, when Agent Sitwell is spilling the beans on the rooftop, he mentions "Steven Strange".

Marvel is doing a cool thing with CafePress where you can get a SHIELD ID card for $1.50 shipping.

It seems to be getting hit pretty hard, I finally got it to load and upload my picture this afternoon.

TAS2 Podcast (Contains spoilers)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QY-y0lP3Hc

^ Hilarious stuff complete with voice impressions that had be crying with laughter.

They seem to conclude that TAS2 is an incoherant mess with a terrible script but still pretty fun despite the huge flaws. They conclude that it's the 'Superman3' of Spiderman films ;-)

So I'm still on the fence as to wether I want to go see it.

Sounds like the sort of thing that isn't worth paying money to see.  Maybe if movie tickets still only cost $5 like they did when i was a kid I would go to see it but now adays when they cost $12 just doesn't seem like having a good action scene or two and being so bad it is good is worth the money.  To me that is what it keeps coming down to. TAS is exactly the type of movie I would have taken a chance on when I was a kid but with the price of movie tickets where they are now there is no chance I will see it in theaters after all of the reviews and feedback I have heard and read.

I just saw Thor (2011) for the first time and it's really good.

Bitter sweet to catch Nat Portman being very yes in this sort of movie. It just goes to show that the right script and the right director can really make a difference.

Good heavens they really didn't skimp on materials building that Chris Hemsworth chap did they?

Nice to catch the JMS cameo.

I was just as surprised by Natalie in Your Highness. ;)

Yeah it was nice to see her in a good role.  Thor is my favorite of the single Marvel movies because it has a special feeling of fun and magic to me. I don't expect everyone to agree with me as it is all a matter of taste but for me it just has this feel that I just like.

Oh and I didn't know he had worked on it but i stood up in theater and cheered when I saw JMS appear on screen and then everyone looked at me like I was a loon.

Last week I saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier @ the Majestic Theater in Brookfield, Wisconsin.  The screen alone was 3 times the size of the normal theater I go to and I sprung for the 3D.

I have to say I loved the movie immensely.

The only set of these movies that I haven't been thrilled with is the Iron Man series.  Thor has been top notch.  The Avengers too.  Spiderman ..... meh.

Maybe Guardians of The Galaxy and Avengers 2 will move things along better.

Sony doesn't want to lose the rights to Spidey, (or let Disney have them) so they'll crank out a movie every couple years whether it's any good or not.

Yeah it's the same with Fox and XMen.  People don't really seem to care about those movies either and they are not breaking any box office records but they will keep coming because both studios know better then to hand Disney another summer franchise.  The point of these movies isn't to be good or even make a lot of money on their own,it's to keep the rights away from Disney so that both studios don't have to compete with these movies but to do that they have to release a movie every couple of years or the rights go back to Marvel. So sadly for the rest of time we will get an average or worse Spiderman and Xmen movie and we will never see what Marvel would do with them.

It's sad but at least Marvel has plenty of other characters to work with.

What I've seen of First Class was pretty good though. And it doesn't look like they are going to reboot it anytime soon.

It was okay.  It wasn't bad,it was just average if you ask me. Bringing the Cuban Missile Crisis into the story felt forced as did putting professor X in a wheelchair at the end of the movie.  Still it was okay and I wouldn't say no to another movie of it's type as long as it didn't do anything stupid like bring the JFK assassination into the plot.

I was just trying to point out that I don't think Fox is going out of it's way to make these movies really good and I don't think they are having the same impact as the marvel produced movies and they are sure not as big as they were when the first two came out.  I just get a feeling like the executives at Fox don't care, because the point of these movies is to keep the rights out of Marvel's hands. So these movies are being made as cheaply and quickly as possible.  Not to say there are not good moments in them, just that the films themselves don't feel like they have a lot of support from the studio any more.

Has anyone seen the Roger Corman "Fantastic 4"? I liked it more than the two that were released.

We watched X-Men 1 and 2 again last weekend, and we're going to watch the other movies in preparation for the next one. I like the idea of the old X-Men together with the young ones. And I enjoy these movies in general. The only thing I didn't like was that they changed the backstory of Wolverine in his Origins movie (and I haven't seen the last Wolverine movie yet). But, as someone else stated, the X-Men don't fit in the MCU. So I don't care that they aren't there. On the other hand, it would be nice to see a fitting backstory for the twins.

I agree, that Spiderman would be neat to see back in the hands of Marvel. I didn't watch TAS, as I thought a reboot of the series wasn't necessary. At least outside of the MCU.

Marvel got the rights back for Blade, Punisher, Daredevil and Ghost Rider. Maybe we'll see some of these in Phase 3.
