You are still reading Spiderman comics?  You are a braver man then I.  I gave up after that One More day and civil war garbage.

I dunno how old you are or how long you were a reader of Spider-man, but I've been reading long enough to have been through worse than One More Day.

Clone saga anyone?
"No, thanks."
Just checking.

I never give up on characters I like. When dealing with comics, especially ones that have been around for as long as Spider-Man, I look at the big picture rather than each individual story. There are probably more periods of Spider-Man that I hate than periods I like, but the overall story and character of Spider-Man is something I love.

I was around for that but Spiderman selling his marriage to the devil was the last straw. For me Peter Paker and Mary Jane had always been married and for the editors to just say that relationship didn't matter and to undo it in such a stupid way was too big of an insult for me to take.  It's like they were saying "Hey this relationship that you have cared about for as long as you could read,it doesn't matter and you were an idiot to be invested in it."  All those times when the worst happened and we heard Peter say something along the lines of "Well at least I still have Mary Jane" undone.  it was so stupid because it was hamfisted and I bet if he had asked Aunt May she would have never let him make that deal.

The Clone Saga I could get through because the characters and their relationships stayed intact but after One more day none of those mattered and I knew that any second magic could just come out of nowhere and change everything and that the basic motivations of the characters and what they cared about could change on a dime. So for me there was no reason to stick around. i couldn't invest in the stories because there would be no logic to them and I couldn't invest in the characters and their relationships because I knew all of those would be undo each time an editor wanted a big event. Really I could go on for hours and hours about why One more day killed Spiderman for me and got me to stop reading the comics after 15 years but I really don't want to go into a long debate.   If anyone one is interested in my point of view on One more day and why it is my most hated story in all of fiction I will leave a link to Linkara's review here.  He says most of what I would say.  I will just add this Spiderman comics are one of the first things I ever read as a kid and Peter Parker and Mary Jane's relationship was the only one I ever got invested in. Also I have always liked seeing characters age and deal with the new issues that come from that rather then staying stuck in place. Also they undid Spidergirl and I think that was an awful thing to do to her fans.  To me it just showed that all the editors care about is their own grimdark story telling that they think is adult and they don't care about the characters at all. So I stopped reading. Again I don't want to get into a debate about this because to this day thinking about this makes me so depressed and nothing anyone can say will ever change my mind.  This is something that literally hurts my feelings that is how attached I was to these characters so even if you can come up with some logical reason why I should move passed it that will not change my mind because the emotional pain over rules that. To me that does way more damage then a storyline that went on for too long and had some stupid twists in it. At the end of the day the characters weren't damaged beyond repair at the end of the Clone Saga, but they were in One More day and One more day didn't have a single moment I liked in it. Clone Saga was stupid but it still had some good character moments and action scenes and I think the writers were trying to do the right thing for the characters even if they did drop the ball, I don't feel that way about One more day.

Wow I went on way longer then I intended to,sorry.

Any way if you want to understand how i feel here is the link.
