Sorry but I have to side with Sheba on this. The PT dialogue is just rotten. Especially in AOTC. Ugh! That little fireside scene and then that horrible line about dieing a little bit each day. There is no way around it. It stinks.

Exactly, the survival of the Jedi Temple makes no sense at all. According to the EU, the Emperor used the Clone Wars to turn the public against the Jedi. It's like leaving the Berlin Wall intact after it has no more use. A standing Jedi Temple is only another vain attempt to tie the trilogies together.
