Kingsama, thanks for bringing back the topic of the separation of church and state. If I am not mistaken, this is a constitutionally enshrined doctrine, embodied as the right to freedom of religion. We have the same right in the Canadian constitution, wherein any one religion or mode of thinking (e.g. atheism, agnosticism) cannot set itself up as a state religion because to do so would infringe on the rights of those who worship differently. This is one of the constitutional rights that means the most to me because without it, I would not be free to worship according to the dictates of my own conscience, something which is very important in my everyday life. *steps off soapbox*
