Yes, which is also the reason why Nicholas Meyer's two 'Sod all this peace, let's just have submarine warfare in space' Star Trek films are the best.
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.
oh... did I say "peace"? I mean to say "War AND Peace". In fact no - I don't think either can be compared!
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

And regarding a comment made above about uhura's mirror outfit, she definitely should have worn that all the time. way cooler than her everyday TOS wear. ;)
It wouldn't do her kidneys any good.
I've never heard a Star Wars character go "I'm half human, and half wookie. My two halves are forever warring inside me! Rooowwwowowoaaar."
Star Wars is a galactic fantasy. Star Treek is science-fiction.
I find Star Treek rather unappealing and not so enjoyable. Star Treek storyline is boring compared to Star Wars.

Star Wars and Star Trek are two sides of one coin -- a coin that started off pristine and shiny, but has fallen into a big, steaming cowpie.
Frankly, both franchises could do with some cross-pollination; Star Wars needs more philosophical, human stories, while Star Trek needs to dump the stupid technobabble and human/rubber forehead aliens.
The thing is, any comparison is unfair, because while the OT is a fairly unified planetary romance/ science fantasy kinda thing, there's never been one Star Trek.
Even Star Trek TOS varied widely between smart Sci-Fi, (The Cage), light comedy (Trelain, Tribbles), social parables good and bad (Frank Gorshim and Space Hippies), stupidly bad sci-fi (Spocks Brain), aliens that convieniently look like Nazis or Gangsters (Coms and Yanks even) and always a heaping of punch punch punch.

As originally conceived and executed, Star Trek envisioned a sort of constant low-intensity warfare, as great powers tested each other and fought via proxy, and various aliens attacked the Federation's "wagon train to the stars." It was the Indian Wars and the Cold Wars combined. The films were a departure from this. They did away with the colonial aspect, except as a (totally justified) symptom of Klingon paranoia, and presented a more sanitized version of the Cold War. There was never any open warfare in Nicholas Meyer's films; the closest we got was some rogue officers firing at the other side during a peace conference. Combat was presented as something exceptional, not as the fairly routine occurrence it was in The Original Series.
The later TV series and movies are a mixed bag. The episodic series typically take place during peacetime, but DS9 is mostly set during or around a major war. Half the TNG movies take place during this war, but ignore it, and the last movie features a Romulan attack on the Federation, albeit during a short-lived coup that represents a major departure from Romulan policy.
Of course, the difference between peace and war is not night and day, it's shades of gray existing on a few different dimensions (legal authorities, international relations, scale and duration of combat, etc.). You can conduct a lot of lethal operations without being at war, and you can be at war and have no combat at all. It depends on your point of view.
As a whole (including the PT, the SEs, ROTJ, TNG, STID etc, etc) Farscape is better than both *waits for bomb to go off*
If there's one major aspect of Star Trek that's better than Star Wars, it's this:
In the ST EU, there's no major effort to make each and every storyline canon, there're no stupid retcons made to mesh incompatible stories/histories together, and there're no concentrated efforts to make each and every era outside of TNG and its spinoffs more like TNG and its spinoffs.
Compare that to the SW EU, where each and every story has to be canon, where every single incompatible story/history has to be retconned into fitting together, and every era outside of the PT has to be reconfigured to match the PT.
