The amphistaff's poison is still in Luke, so Luke has a vongsense, but his life is also shortened. It is possible that he would die simply of old age/ poison.

Luke is not immortal, and if the EU keeps going on, then he'll have to die sometime. Why not after decapitating Shimrra and raising Ben.
