And one small problem during the training scene (with Yoda on back) - every time there is a cut the colour palette changes a bit. Again, not sure if it's supposed to look this way

I can't believe I'm the only one who commented on the workprint :-) Your Star Wars workprints were very succesful and this one is ignored? :-)

I think its great.  I am kind of surprised too.  the workprints are always great like you said.  there are one or two change that I thought would be done but he said he was saving those for later.     Color me very excited.  I love the way it looks.

looking for HDTV of the  Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.  Also HDTV of The Lord of the Rings trilogy

I'm surprised at the low reaction as well. Maybe there aren't that many people subscribed to this thread any more. I think I'll post about it in the SW thread.

Yeah, I'd say that's why.  Also, toss me a link if you don't mind.

Hi. I was away for a few days. Count me interested by the workprint as well.

Thanks in advance.

Please bear with me if I tend to get too excited about anything or say too much, I have issues.

Wow very excited that you're well underway with this, Harmy! I wish I could be of more help but I just don't have time right now. First baby is due any day so everything else is kinda on the back burner for now.

I'm having trouble getting JDownloader to cooperate, but the comparison screenshots you posted look phenomenal. The snowspeeder compositing looks amazing! That's a level of detail and commitment to the original that will make 2.0 an unmistakable upgrade.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Actually, I already had those finished from way back when and then I decided not to undo most of the other recomps, unless they were very obvious (like the ones with the smoke) until I can get my hands on some of the 35mm materials, so there will be quite a few recomped shots left in the Hoth battle but over-all, v2.0 will still be much more despecialized than v1.0.

I knew you were unhappy with v1.0 compared to what you know you can do now, but I hadn't realized you may have left in a significant amount of recomps.  About how much of the recomp shots were left in v1.0?  Also, did you go with the SE Imperial fleet back then, too?  Just wondering, more than anything (v1.0 is still miles/kilometers better than any other option currently out there).

In the end, the most important thing is that it feels like Star Wars again, even if we know the least offensive recomps have to stay in for a while longer.

I was surprised when I learned that the lightsabers in ANH were recomped from their original elements; it's amazing how they can look so different. The sabers in the '04/'11 ANHSE just do not feel right to me.

The only time in the prequels when a lightsaber felt the same way was when Yoda lopped off the clonetroopers' heads during Order 66. The blade is less defined or something.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Actually, in v1.0, none of the Hoth recomposites were undone. And yes, the fleet was also SE.

Just took a look at the comparison shots. Everything looks fantastic!

Looks great so far!

What is the source you are using as a guide for the color correction?

Great to see this is finally coming along. Thanks a lot Harmy.

Summer 2014 please!

I watched the workprint last night as my evening movie, and it looked awesome! Can't wait for the final product.

Actually, spring 2014 isn't unrealistic for v2.0 of ESB.

As to color reference, I'm mostly using GOUT and 97SE.

Many thanks for the links, Harmy. Everything looks so perfect.

I still noticed a strange glow around the yellow letters when they enter the picture but it's much more subtle than in workprint reel 1. Furthermore, I'm very glad that you've been using the SE shots for the first Executor scene. The detail you brought back from those crushed blacks is astonishing in comparison to v1.0 and the GOUT material from reel 1 as well. Did you drop the additional Star Destroyer engine glow intentionally?

You see it at 00:20:00:18 (workprint reel 1) below the Star Destroyer on the right side. It's a mistake from the original material that was removed in 2004.
