There is no way Adywan can save the prequels or restore the magical feeling Star Wars gave me in the original. No point for Adywan to redo the prequels If the next 3 Disney movies are good and do well, maybe they (Disney) should go back and "reboot" the last 3 films and do them right, with a major rewrite and designate the current failure of 3 films to the annals of botched movie history.
The biggest failure was George Lucas. Writing and directing 3 steaming piles of rubbish. The prequels are nothing more than three 2½ hour commercials of how Lucas he can make special effects and cheese more important than conveying a powerful story. Only In hands of a better director, with corrections by a real writer.
The only good thing and worth saving was maul. They would need to reboot but keep a few things similar. Now I think about it....just keep Maul really. And make him live longer.
If the next 3 movies are good, no one will want to hear about the preludes or care about them especially when we'll get Luke, Leia and Han back! Probably even get to see Luke go down on leia this time !
If the next 3 starwars are as bad as the prequels Adywan will have 6 pointless edits to do. No-one fix those lines or edit in better acting. No-one could have performed those lines well. The story was an abomination.
Even Natalie was terrible. Only a master such as Ian MacDiarmid saved his role.
There is no way? Without knowing Adywan's plans I think that's a bit presumptuous. I'm not trying to be rude, but quite frankly I think this is a bit off-putting. If I was putting an enormous amount of work into something for absolutely nothing monetarily speaking, then your statement would be the last thing I would want to read. I don't know you, but coming from a production background I can tell you that statements like that are just horribly dissuasive and the opposite of productive.
I more or less agree with your thoughts on George Lucas.
Also, saying that after the next 3 Disney SW films come no one will care about the prequels is not true for many people including myself. I'm very excited about the new films, but I still want my proper prequel films. Many like myself dreamt about what the Clone Wars looked at when we were kids, and got incredibly excited when we were finally getting to see the official vision, and then been horribly let down when they turned out the way they did. Yes, art is subjective, but these films were bad from a structure point of view, when the classic films (from a structure point of view) were flawless. It was disregard for what was made so far that made me and so many upset.
Anyway, just tossing this out there and seeing what sticks.
