Info Wanted: Did anyone do a preservation of the 'Behind the Magic' DVD? — Page 2

He's talking about pirating and posting copies of the CDROM itself. A DVD based on the CDROM is a different thing.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. Thanks!

Take care,
Sojourn

P.S. If copies became really rare, would it ever become okay to distribute copies of the disc? Or still no, because it was once a commercially-sold product?

Well, since it is long out of print, I suppose it technically is rare. I'm sure the mods still would frown on publicly distributing the discs.

It is possible to extract the images/video/text etc. directly from the discs, which should allow for the best possible transfer to DVD as an archival project. We are discussing it in the technical forum here.
You can get much better results this way than the capture via TV out methods employed in the past. This could potentially allow any owners of the original BTM discs to create a DVD version they could watch on their TVs.

I believe what you're after is "Star Wars - The Lost Scenes (NTSC)".

(...which is currently available on MySpleen.)

All the best! ;)
