You're talking about the recent Blu-ray release of Pinchcliffe Grand Prix in Scandinavia, right?

The extra version they included was sourced from Standard Def video and will never look like proper HD material, scratches removed or not.

What the Caprino studio did was to take an ancient VHS copy and port it over to Blu as a second video track in order to make their HD remaster look even better by comparison. Not exactly a fair comparison.

In fact, you'd be better off upscaling the first 2001 DVD release from Sandrew Metronome which was also in 4x3 but looks miles better than that "before" travesty they included on the Blu.
