There is just no logical reason why Lucas made the name change, granted other planets have different names. Hearing Yoda call it Mordabrand instead of Korriban made me cringe a little

The fact that he just changed a silly name for pretty much no reason is what makes it annoying and stupid. Why bother? There's already a name for it, so why must it be changed?

Why not?
It's pointless though. I disagree with creating discontinuity just because. If George and others want to change someone's origin story, or break continuity with a novel's plot, then that's their prerogative and I'm fine with that. But altering small details for no apparent reason just seems silly to me and I think it would be better to go with whatever was there previously.
Frankly, there's a lot more important things to change from the EU than a planet's name.
Supershadow. Fans trust him simply because he's not Lucas.
But he's Lucas' best friend! Who apparently can't stop lying to him about what is going to be in his movies.darklordoftech said:

I love SuperShadow -- he's so goshdarn amusing.
His site seems to be gone now, though. =(
The EU is just like the Legend of Zelda. It keeps telling the same story and everything gets "hijacked by the Sith".

Really? Perhaps they got tired keeping the gag going. Or did Disney have SS liquidated? ;)
Where were you in '77?
I tried visiting the site a few days ago only to find the domain up for sale.
Oh, well, at least I can still visit it through the wayback machine. >=D
Denning's literal interpretation of Mortis. What's next? A book on how Luke-faced Vader moved into a cave on Dagobah?

LOL!!!
Something tells me that the less I know about this Mortis character, the better.
How its fans claim that every single aspect of it is a fundamental component of Star Wars and MUST be in episodes 7-9.

SW isn't exactly Tolkien, but given the Jedis pisspoor knowledge of history and 25000 years, some linguistic drift seemed plausible.

All post-ROTJ EU used "Korriban".
真実
Here's what Wookieepedia has to say on the whole Korriban/Moraband affair.
Korriban appears in the final episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. George Lucas preferred the name "Moraband" to Korriban during story development, leading the episode "Sacrifice" to refer to the planet as Moraband. The episode guide's trivia gallery clarified the issue, stating that Korriban has had multiple names throughout its history. As Korriban is referred to as such in material that is later in terms of in-universe chronology, this article retains the planet's name of Korriban.
So "officially", Korriban and Moraband are both valid in-universe designations for the planet. That means everyone devotedly married to "Korriban" don't have to complain about "Moraband" anymore.
Of course, I don't care either way. It's the people behind-the-scenes' continued obsession with trying to fit square pegs in round holes that's pissing me off; the current incarnation of the EU IS NOT CANON and is ON IT'S WAY OUT -- GET OVER THE MOTHERFUCKING RETCONNING ALREADY!!!

And with the evils that are Legacy and SWTOR, it won't be missed.
Legacy is almost definately going in the trash. I'm not so sure about TOR, though; as much as I'd like to see it join the garbage heap, it takes place thousands of years before the ST unlike Legacy, and as such it isn't something that would have to be thrown out to accompany the new films.
How everybody uses Lucas's name to deflect blame off themselves. Lucas may have written the prequels, but that doesn't make Karpyshan any less guilty of writing KOTOR.
The Empire making people forget about the Clone Wars and the Jedi. Not only were those things the basis of the Empire's formation, but people don't forget things just because the government wants them to.
How all I hear about is how awesome Revan is and how epic the SWTOR trailers are. News flash: Revan is just a generic Sith and the SWTOR trailers are just a bunch of generic Jedi and Sith.
I wonder how the Sith in the EU would have eventually developed if Karpyshyn had patterned Revan and Malak after the Sith in TOTJ instead after the Sith in the PT.

Good question. We definitely wouldn't have all those movie Sith lookalikes. Bane would have a purple lightsaber (I love that picture in the character guide).
