dumb question: what does GTA stand for?

You mean you've never killed a hooker and taken the cash from her cold dead hands?

Or set ablaze a group of innocent bystanders?

Or stolen a car, and a couple of minutes later crashed it randomly into oncoming traffic?

Warb, you truly haven't lived.

 They has FAILED!

I don't think Bingo was referring to Grand Theft Auto.

I've done that...but not in a video game.

If Bingo works on GTA6 or Red Dead Redemption 2 or something, I hope he inserts something about Han shooting first somewhere in RDR or graffiti in GTA saying "I AM ALL OF YOU"

I very much doubt they will give me a job after what I wrote on their application form.

I have my fingers crossed for the Glasgow School Of Art though.

I just found out that, on top of all the other family problems I'm having, my grandfather has a brain tumor and will have to have brain surgery monday.

He made it thru the surgery, and the tumor was successfully removed, but upon removing it it was determined that the tumor was indeed cancerous and will undoubtedly grow back.

He's been given a 12% chance of survival, but more realistically he has 6-12 months to live.

:(

I am so sorry to hear that, Possessed.  I don't know what to say except that you have my sympathies and I will continue to pray you and your family.

I hope he lives at least 36 or 48 months just to have the doctors be perplexed as to how he's still alive. If not, he might as well make the most of it. You should also visit him to give your sympathies and to spend time together.

I wish I had dropped everything when my dad was diagnosed and just been with him but everyone was telling me how proud he was that I was at university and how it was helping his recovery.

Being told he had recovered and then having to rush home on a train to watch him die wasn't a day I'd wish on anyone.

I had to have my train pass updated for the trip back so I have a photo of  my face moments after I found out. God it looks grim.

I recommend some sort of holiday if you can. With as many things and people he likes so he knows you are all behind him and not avoiding him should the worst happen. If they have to be your last shared experiences, make them worth it.

Best of luck.

I really appreciate the thoughts, everybody.  I really do.  Thank you.  And that is a really sad story Bingowings! :(  I am going to try to make it down there to see him.  I'm just a housekeeper at a nursing home (and I'm not even an old lady... go figure) so hopefully the floors won't get up and walk away if I don't mop them for a few days.

I can't tell if this is another one of ChristophMer's mocking troll posts or not.

Why was he banned?  Just curious, and apologies if this is painfully obvious in some thread that I just haven't noticed yet.

I've finally figured out who invented Daylight Savings Time. Here is his picture.

To be honest I prefer it to having more time waking up to hours of darkness in the winter mornings.

As it is in the peak of winter it doesn't get fully light until 10am and by 2.30pm it slowly starts to get dark again. Without the switch over it would be nearly noon until the sun was going full whack.

The summer is a giggle though as you can read without the aid of a streetlamp at 11pm and the sun starts to come up again around 3am.

There is a period just after midnight where you can practically see dawn and dusk in the same sky.

By sickness do you mean vomiting or being unwell?

Both are horrid but you can get tablets to repress the gag response (Jasper Carrot gives them out to his audience every night).

It greatly annoys me that my laptop isn't able to read CBR files that I've recently burned onto CDs with my desktop, especially since I use the laptop far more than the desktop.
