other problem I had with it was that it delayed an already too long show. When you add up the whole time it took for the entire pizza thing, it probably adds up to more than a half an hour!

Knowing DeGeneres soley from the TV commercials she's been in and all that jibberjabber about her being a lesbian, I personally have no real opinion on her one way or the other (I think she has amazing eyes, though).
I like Ellen -- she seems admirably personable, even if I'm not crazy about her jokes -- but I'm not sure she's the right fit for the Oscars. There's a reason she's a day-time talk host.

The problem is, every host they get these days wants to do their shtick, and the show runs too long as it is. Johnny Carson did crack jokes, but he mostly got on with what he was hired to do. He didn't turn it into a four hour Tonight Show.

So I'm looking for jobs and notice that Rockstar North are advertising for work in their Edinburgh office.
I submit my CV (resume if you are elsewhere) and up pops this application form.
It's a job in Scotland but the form is impossible to fill in unless you are American.
It has pull down menus with American Cities and States in, it's education and employment sections are based on the American system of doing things.
This is the fifth job I've applied for today and each one has had it's own bizarre quirks when it comes to online application.
Anyway I filled in the form with a scathing critique of the weirdo way they run their online employment which is bound to win me friends and get me employed as a floor tile or maybe a projectile in one of their new game things.

It depends on whether or not your ISP offers Usenet access. If not, then so-called "premium" Usenet access (e.g., usenetserver.com) does cost money.
I see nothing "incorrigibly intrusive" about having to pay for a service from which you derive value.
Usenet is not P2P. Running an NNTP server that supports binaries is absurdly expensive.
... and it's still better than BitTorrent.
