idea for the end of Ep3

Hi there,

I'm new here, and just thought I'd stirke up a topic with an idea that i thought off whilst looking at some of the posts about re-edits and such.

Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to use some of the cut footage from ep 4 ie: Luke gazzing up at the space battle, luke and biggs at the bar etc. clean it up and then insert it into the end of ep3 as a kind of montage of images of luke growing up with obi-wan (ben!) watch from afar?

A lot of people have had a lot of ideas about what the last shot of the prequals should be - maybee the answer should come straight out (litterally) of the original trilogy.

Any thoughts?

Anyway of getting that lost footage would be cool...absolutely. I doubt it would happen though. It would change the look of the film. The clips that I have seen are rough...and certainly the technology available could clean it up and I think it could be spliced with a new hope but the films now are shot in HD and they may look odd. Especially in 2-3 years when the HD boxset is released, the difference may be more stark with that footage and what is in episode III, no matter how much cleaning you do.

We can hope and maybe the techology will be there.
16 years I wait and this is what I get???

while it would be great to see all that lost footage in some form or another, I don't think it would necessary to include in episode 3 any details about Luke growing up, we all know it happens, so there doesn't seem much point in stating the obvious, but then again that seems to be Georges modus aperandi these days.
