technically Yes he does have every right as the owner to distribute the original trilogy as he chooses to, but surely he has a moral obligation to the legions of fans over the last 27 years who fell in love with the original releases of the films and fuelled the creation of Georges Empire . George's original film may have been the seed, but it has been the fans that allowed that seed to flourish and grow into what it is today , if it wasn't for the public falling in love with Star Wars there never would have been any sequals, spin-offs , merchandising, Skywalker Ranch,ILM, Special Editions or prequals, and yet the contempt he seems to display towards fans of his original vision in interviews is staggering. I'm not a collector by any means, the only action-figures I own are the remnants of my original collection from when I was 12, which far from being mint in packet , have been well loved over the years and handed down to a baby brother so they are in various states of condition. Star Wars over the years has been near and dear to millions of people over the last 3 decades and I just believe we deserve a little bit more than an 'Apology' for falling in love with his 'unfinished' films all those years ago.
Now having said all that, I am over over the moon regarding George's recent comments/concessions towards releasing the Original Trilogy on DVD format once VHS is obsolete.
