It's a Panasonic PV-GS400.

Not only that, there was a Panasonic DV codec on this system, but it still wouldn't work.

Anyway, thanks for this new info. I tried the Panasonic website for the PV-GS400 (in case it's codec was different) but couldn't install the only available software package (it requires the camcorder connected). Also tried assorted free DV codecs (Sony, Panasonic, Cedocida, Canopus) but still no video.

It looks like I must be satisfied with your frame capture (above) for now. :D
