A universe where H. P. Lovecraft was never born and the Great Old Ones are real.

Suffice it to say, Cthulhu eventually left R’lyeh to drown the Earth in an orgy of madness and the Great Olds in general awoke from their aeons of slumber, fracturing the fabric of existence itself in the process.
