Can't we all just GET ALONG?????

Actually, when I came to this board there was plenty of OT love to go around and and there was always the "devil's advocate" posts which help keep us all grounded to why we are here, OUR love of Star Wars and its ORIGINAL beginings......that being said, I still believe it is about that. Discussion, debate, sharing, helping........this board IS just that. If we get any visitors from other places that come to sabotage that, please, be gone. If you have come for a different point of view and you have things to contribute that folks on other boards don't like, please, be welcome. But REMEMBER THIS, my stay so far here has been enlightening, most enjoyable, and down-right pleasure-able and anyone coming in here wanting to mess with that won't last for long........and you'll end up head over heel out the door with a mouth full of bantha poodu and a large strong nasty "lord of the sith" boot in your sorry arse!!!!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.......thank you to everyone who welcomed me to this forum when I arrived, without you, I wouldn't still be the nice Star Wars nerd I was born to stay....

The OT RULES!!!!

"Force Chokes" all those who recently came in, bashin folks.......til they pass out and I use Permanent Marker to make them look like the Greedo that "didn't" shoot first, and leave them on their own boards doorstep, ringing the door bell and running like hell (gigglin like a little schoogirl watchin behind the bushes as MOMMA GL answers the door) ......... love ya guys!!!!

I am of course, just kidding, I am always glad for new faces and new ideas........

Actually, I personally agree with a lot of what is said in that thread.

I find the more I visit this site, the more it sucks the fun out of actually watching the movies. Not everybody, but there are a lot of people here who need to learn to be content with what we do have.

You are correct and there are other threads in here for those of us who do still enjoy the SE and other aspects of the trilogy........I like what I like and no-one here has given me the business yet about it. I enjoy the trade (and not begging) possibilities here so as to help others who are working hard to make these things happen. My donation goes to the collective effort of preservation here , not my singular effort of personal need.

I welcome differences of opinion here. Recently, I have gone on and on to a friend of mine about how pathetic I think the SW universe has become. He simply replied, "I know it sucks. It sucks! But I like the prequels, and enjoy the the SE's. Would it really make you feel better if you ruined that for me??"

And he's absolutely right. So be it.

But Figrin_Dan is absolutely right. By definition, this site is pro-original version. That's undisputable. So if there happens to be Lucas-bashing and pessimism, I think that's to be expected, not to mention tolerated. It's just par for the course.

I tend to agree that this is to be expected on this site. Its clearly not a bi-partisan forum. (In a political mood tonight I guess ).

And I definitely think that the attitude of just being content with what we do have goes directly against human nature. No dice on that one bub.
Unfortunately for that argument, there is a lot working against it. People want stuff even more when they are told they cant have it...I really hope I dont have to expand on that. Not to mention that its just silly to look at a bunch of people and say, "tough shit," and not expect any backlash.

Listen, I'm not loyal to one site or another. Both sites serve different purposes for me, and I like reading the responses on both forums.

The Lucas bashing on this site, however, is pretty extreme, and while I've come to expect it, it grows rather tiresome after awhile.

To be fair, Millennium Falcon is pure Star Wars fanboy propaganda, while OT.com is sort of the rebellious SW site. We have a mission and this place was founded with the purpose of seeing OUR beloved movies on DVD, while they just go along with everything Lucas does and accept all the new versions. After some lurking, I learned that they are just Lucas-loving idiots who obviously had nothing better to do than start some crap over the internet (Because noone here did anything to provoke them but talk about their dislike of Lucas). Questions? Comments?

You're full of shit. I'd say that 75% - 85% of the regulars at MF dislike the major changes to the Special Edition, and think the prequels could have been much better.
