At this point I'm done caring, let -1 be mysterious if he wants / is in fact still involved.  No business of mine whether he chooses to keep a low profile or not, however strange it may seem.  We're being given proof that we're not just getting taken for a ride here, and that's good enough

Sorry for starting this by addressing -1. I was addressing the Team as a whole too. I guess I'll ask none if he has any leader info or anything.

The paper rings around the reels are something different, they will identify the studio, sometimes the lab, sometimes other info. If the prints had them intact, and the team has any pictures of them, they might hold a clue as to the origin and purpose of the print. I've already said why I don't think it was for TV broadcast.

The "Frinks" don't just come out at night around here.

Wasn't none announced being part of the team a few months ago?

While I'm intrigued, has it been confirmed that this blue cast is actually a print anomaly and not just a result of their scanning approach?

-1, have you released any of your workprints other than the small chunks on vimeo?

Keep up the good work guys!

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Wow the Eastman stock prior to LPP is purple, ouch.

Vinegar syndrome print?

I remember awhile ago they said they were rescanning the print and it wasn't quite as cool the second time around.  I think it's a little of a, little of b.

By the way, just to address some points in another thread. For those picking on Mike V, although he is not directly involved with our project, he has been a silent person behind the scenes that has impacted us also. We have also helped Harmy out. So those people that keep asking , what is with that project? , should know there is a lot of behind the scenes things going on that you are shielded from. If you know the work that he has done, you wouldn't dare keep asking why he bothers to post here. Just be glad he doesn't just disappear and leave you in the dark.

And for those that wonder why things that take so long, and keep asking for more previews. They should either learn to contribute and make comments instead of constantly repeating they want higher resolution scans or more. It's nice to be enthusiastic, but there is a reason and a timing for releasing material to maintain interest. There's no point in putting up screenshots for every single frame without context.

People that have contributed to the blog in the past, will be the first ones to get our restoration before anyone from OT. That is due to their contributions and for not constantly asking without doing anything for it. They have a right to entitlement unlike people that only ask and never do anything constructive.

We are willing to share our project because there is little to no risk for our team members. And although one member (group member [-1]) left awhile ago. The remainder of the team, and new members have picked up from where he had left off. He made it clear that he was done with the project, since the initial scans and rescans were done, and the project was well under way. There is no one pretending to be anyone here, and unless people are willing to post some proof or evidence, it's tiring to keep hearing the same baseless speculation that adds nothing to this thread. Unless that persons posts and says it himself, that would be proof, anything else is just distraction not paranoia. Remember, we are doing this for ourselves first and foremost, the only reason for sharing, is because other members have shared material with us, and the founder of this project wants it to be shared.

So for people that keep posting in other threads, speculation about this group, or whether this project will be complete or not, they should realize the real world nature of how long things take. Otherwise we would have ESB:R revisited and Team Blu's projects already.

As far as the future, there are 2 IB tech scans already, and 2 more partial ones to go. Some are done in 4k, and the other ones might likely be also.

We've shown we can handle 2k, and 4k. But since no one except a small handful of people can watch it. There is no point in speculating about releasing those. They would be used to get a higher quality version that will be made into 2k and 1080p versions, and if they were made they will also be kept internally for reference.

Since half of your post is referring to me. Yes, I picked on Mr. Verta. I said way too much, but I was frustrated and had a pretty good basis. I'm pretty sure I read everything he posted on ot.com and a good portion of his forum.

But you imply I'm useless and "don't contribute", even though you know absolutely nothing about me. How nice. You know, whenever I can help with something here, I do it.

Oh, why do I bother posting. I'll shut up until I get my own Star Wars print, like all the other cool guys.

Don't take it personally. There's a lot of ungrateful people out there. But if you start one, we'll be sure to keep hounding you until you are done, and constantly asking for progress reports.

Just claiming you read everything here and there doesn't mean anything. Anybody can do that. Reading it, understanding it, and being able to comment intelligently about a topic is hard, and takes work. That is what is being people are being asked to do, instead of just randomly bashing people without cause or understanding.

Picking on Mike V?  ALLOL!  That guy is lying in a bed he made, one that is so big it makes Stinky's balls look like nanoparticles.

Passive aggressiveness. I like it. Not sure what the hell are you talking about though. Would you prefer your thread dead? Damn, I wish I could arrange that. I'm useless again instead. :/

We all say stupid shit every now and then. It happens.

Honestly, nobody will care about this drama in a few days, so there's no need to stop posting.

Just consider this a learning experience and move on.

The last thing our (relatively) small community needs is fewer productive members.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Seriously?

Unless that persons posts and says it himself, that would be proof, anything else is just distraction not paranoia.

So if -1 posts under the group account and tells us all it's him, that, and only that, proves that he's posting under the group account and pretending it's not him. That must be the double-secret backwards switcheroo approach to evidence, I hadn't thought of that.

You're doing a great job, team. I like your project and what you've done so far. What's really tiring is this "I'm hiding out from the DEA in the bedroom over the garage, but tell everyone I moved to Guatemala, this is totally gonna fool everyone" routine. Or, at the very least, change the team account password so he stops using it. The moderators here have already been on you about this, and they have access to IP address information if you want more proof. Christ.

 ^Well played.

On the point of "participation": I was a member of the blog and I recall posting on many of the pieces.  However, given my lack of expertise, there's not really much I could offer other than a "looks good" or "WHOA HOW'D YOU DO THAT?" comment here and there.  Perhaps I'm only speaking for myself, but there are times when I avoid commenting with the reasoning that I don't really know what I have to offer you guys that you don't already know yourselves.

Much love to you all for the work you're doing, of course.

I take the approach of keeping my mouth shut because I've been known to reveal what an idiot I really am when I start yakking.

I'm just hoping I can somehow contribute in a way in which I am able to.

That's fucking stupid. Everyone knows how tiny my balls are to begin with, it's one of the first things that comes to mind when people think of this place, so that means his bed might not necessarily even be that big.

We're glad that people realize that Mike V is doing a lot of good for Star Wars. It's too bad it had to be keep being brought up by the same people with the same arguments over and over again.

Hopefully, this will be put to rest so that he can keep on working on his project to completion. We knew it all along, but sometimes people have to be convinced.

Commenting, and questions can be a good thing. Not everyone knows what questions have been asked before. And also pointing out things that were overlooked, or wondering where things were different from the DVD or the many other versions can be enlightening.

Since I started this project from where the others have left off, I have learned quite a bit. Even with the basic information and clean up that is being done. I'm sure the other members of the team have heard many of the questions before.

Since I've been posting, I've started at the beginning of the film, and so a lot of it is just as new to me as it is to the newer members out there. I'm sure some of you saw more on the blog than I did, and I haven't caught up on all that information either.

So don't be shy about asking questions about the print. We can all learn new things from it.

-----------

As far as the LPP intro goes. Yes, the original faded Kodak intro goes quite aways before it turns into the different splices of the LPP.

We will post the first few minutes of the comparison shortly.
