Did Boba Survive?

Author
Time

OK, a quick one- according to Lucas’s current version of SW ‘cannon’, does Fett survive getting so ignominiously tossed into the monster pit in RotJ?

In some of the EU stuff, he lives… but most EU stuff is like stepping in dog crap in flip-flops and feeling the fresh warm feces ooze up and squelch between your toes. Unpleasant.

So- what does Beardo himself have to say on it?

Of course he didn't survive.

Most of EU is canon, now.

Boba Fett nearly died to get out of the Sarlaac pit, but Bossk found him and restored his health for something or another. I've not actually read that book.

In The Unifying Force, Boba Fett is seen leading some other soldiers in Madalorian armor against the Yuuzhan Vong.

So, yes, Fett did survive

Long live Fett - intergalactic bad ass.

Even with his new voice.

Depends on if you have the EU in your canon. Let's not turn this into that thread on TF.N.

dont you mean threads... iirc the canoon threads were ongoing, and also iirc the boba discussion went nuts there after a while...

Actually he was rescued by Dengar (he of the toliet paper head) and nursed back to health. This happened in the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy which I would hightly reccomend.

Dear Lord, there were more of them. I skimmed it and was disgusted. If by "after awhile" you mean after the first post asked the question, yes, it was insane. The whole thing seemed an excuse for both sides to go at each other's jugulars.

According to the EU he's alive, and yes I belive in that. Anyway, he never really EXISTED in first place, so this is kinda pointless. He is alive if you want him to be.

Yeah, he was resuced my Dengar and is in good health. Read "Tales of the Bounty Hunters". It's the best Star Wars Book, imo.

I consider almost all the EU canon. Though, sometimes there are stories that clash and don't work for one reason or another.

Lucas claims on the DVD commentary that most people don't think he's dead. So basically, at this point he doesn't really have a stance. But the fact that he was going to add a shot of him crawling out of the Sarlacc, but DIDN'T, says something. Like he wants it to stay EU.

I think if you want to go strictly by the movies, its not really spelled out, but from Jedi, we can assume that he died, since he didnt fly/crawl/jump/any other action out of the pit.

If you take anything else into consideration as canon, then you have to evaluate all thats available there. According to a lot of posters, in the EU he lives. So if you consider that canon, there you go.
If not, you are back where I started. With only the movies to go on, you have to make the decision for yourself.

He really went down like a chump... if he were to die, I would have liked to see something better. Jango get pwn3d (diving for the saber? WTF was that supposed to be? Remember your flame thrower? You shoulda used it!), but Boba just went down like a big ole sissy-pants. Hell, Moe Larry and Curly could have taken him out the same way.

I could buy him surviving the pit for a time- he was fully encased in armor which presumably had some life support functions... and had a crapload of weapons and stuff with which to blast or burn his way out...

I've never been a member of the Cult of Boba, but I did think he was cool.

Ah well- Boba still lives deep inide every one of us. When out boss craps on us, he is the part of us that considers using disintigration.

I always liked the character of Boba Fett. The take no crap attitude he had towards Vader in Empire made him as cool as his cool, cool outfit.

In the o-OT version of ROTJ in 1983 the Jeremy Bulloch/Jason Wingreen Boba Fett definitely escaped the Sarlacc pit.

Fett 1

Fett 2

Fett 3

Fett 4

But the new Kiwi Boba Fett dies a horrible punkass death and is slowly devoured over the next 1000 years.

61's not that old.

I watched George Herbert Walker Bush jump out of a plane this year and He's 80.

I saw my 74 yeear old grandfather take a parachute roll of the back porch a few years ago and stand up grazed but other wise unfazed.

These men are career army and service and there is a difference between them and us.

Boba Fett is a tough bastard he's not soft like us he's hard like our grandparents. He's tough and he comes from rough times, and in the words of the immortal prophet Billy Ocean:

When the going gets tough
The tough get going
When the going gets rough
The tough get rough
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooooh baby

Fug jango, fug the whole concept of Boba Fett being a clone.

I hate Episode II, and it is LESS canon than the books ibecaus ethe books came first and theprequels should have reflected them.

Fine, mister Lucas, while you're at it why dont you replace Lando with will smith?
