I don't have a desktop PC, so no, I need to build it from scratch. I do already have a monitor though. But it's also one thing for the computer to handle multiple layers of video when color correcting and quite another when using more complicated tools, like for example the roto-brush, or warp stabilizer and such. You say you have 6GB of RAM - I have 8GB in my laptop and most of the time it's barely enough. Plus a powerful CPU and a fast HDD (all my HDDs, except for the fairly small system one, are currently running through USB and only one of them through USB3) can really speed up the rendering and encoding, which would be great.
