Hmmm... I think I'll leave it as is, because it wasn't a stupid mistake, just poor planning. It may cost me the knight, but not if I do this next bit right.

Wow, I'm impressed by the sneakiness of your move. This is what I was wondering if it was possible: can clever combinations be pulled off on a 1D board? I think you are demonstrating that yes, they can.

We've been forgetting to note promotions, haven't we. Just to make sure you remembered (because I didn't :P), you have a phoenix on square 5.

They sure can. They have to be done differently than on a 2D board though, because pieces usually have to be moved off of squares in order to make room for other pieces. As a result, you have to do things in the right order to minimize your losses.

EDIT: If you forgot to promote the pawn, you can take your move back. I forgot to promote it until this turn as well, so it worked out better than I had anticipated (because I didn't expect to be able to take you with my P/GB).
I did forget, but that is okay. I don't want to take it back. It's interesting, I might lose my first round of the game I invented :(
Actually, in all honesty, I'm proud of you and how perceptive you are being. My pride isn't hurt. If anything, you are showing how well the game can be played. I hope I can match and pull out a victory. S*20
Thank you, I'm glad you think I'm doing so well. I think you have just about as good a chance of winning in the end as I do, to be honest. I'm in a slightly better position, but we have the same pieces on the board right now.

I assume you just mean 3? If so, HH*26

No, sorry, that was a silly goof on my part due to the way I have my pieces set up. 3f is shorthand for 3 spaces forward on my board (as in the legal move for a knight), so I copied my captured knight over from my pieces box and then decided to change it to a heavenly horse. For some reason I wrote the knight's move ability instead of the square I meant, which was 20. :P
So HH*20
Also, I don't have a go-between in play at the moment, it's a pawn, and I have a goose/phoenix in your captured piece box.
Thanks for setting me straight. It's hard to pay attention to all the details while at work.
HHx29
I mean HHx29+N.
I probably won't be able to make another play till I get home, so this will likely be my last move for a few hours. But you never know. Maybe I can sneak in another move at some point.
Hold your horses! Sorry, HH*20 was a correction of my move, not a response to yours. I wanted to make sure you were staying with your original move before I responded. :-/
I assume you're sticking with it (but correct me if you aren't), and if so, my response to your HH drop on square 26 is RS-27.
Oh, now I see. Yes, I will keep my original move, and I will now play Ph*24.

I hope that was a smart move. I see a way you could turn that back at me, but I've got my fingers crossed...

Yikes, I didn't realize how well you had me trapped. I thought I was going to be able to make a come-back next turn, but it looks like I'll have to wait a while and hope I don't get checkmated in the meantime.
HHx29+N
Yeah, I've got you pinned in, but I can't promise I'll mate you before you mate me.
