Also, could we please stop suggesting that Vader is undead? It takes all of the emotion out of his struggle with Luke, and his redemption. If Lucas makes he literally dead at the end of III, it will destroy a huge part of the Star Wars' story and impact.

Yeah, we all know that a telltale sign of the Undead is the inability to re-grown human hair, and we also know that Anakin clearly had eyebrows on his... hey waitaminute.....

Well, the change was kinda lame, I like the original version, the new one's alright...but it's Lucas' movie so I understand why he changed it.

Pretty true yeah.

I have a question about the ANH DVD.

Whenever the blaster ray hits something, the screen flashes pink for one or two frames.

Was it like this in the theatrical release?

Well, if you believe this, how do you explain the U.S. getting its ass kicked in Iraq? Hmm....The whole point was that the Empire was spread too thinly, and the rebel fighters prevailed, in that battle. The movie is totally fine with Ewoks. In fact I love the Ewoks, so cute, but smart. But i tell you what, there were boos when the credits rolled after Episode One...I bet nobody booed ROTJ....
I prefer to think of the last three films as an after thought. They are simply a mess for the average movie-goer. Thats probably why the reviews were so bad, b/c as movies they were bad. Episode Two was much better than E1, but IMO, almost every actor feels inappropriately cast. Lucas would have been much better served to use lesser known actors, who could actually act. Sorry guys but Samuel L. Jackson is not a Jedi, he's the angry black guy from Die Hard 4. Using bland name-brand actors was the biggest mistake ever. Natalie Portman has a big ass, and was pretty bad in E1. There i said it.

Um, excuse me, the USA is WINNING in iraq.

Fine, mister Lucas, while you're at it why dont you replace Lando with will smith?

I mean, no one could really LOVE these crap-fest 2004 versions so much, and continually think up new and increasingly illlogical reasons for the changes. Everything's perfect in Lucas La La Land for this guy, which is bizarre, unless Georgie Porgy is paying his salary.

I wish I was a Lucas mole. I am just a 17 year old Star Wars fan who loves digital effects. It just looks more realistic to me.

In other words you're just a dumb kid from the "special effects rule and dialogue is boring" generation.

Your kind is ruining movies.

Prefering digital effects to model effects has nothing to do with dialog is boring.
Author
Time
Yes it does...in a way. The new SW films have digital effects and horrible dialogue. The originals have (or had) miniatures and optical effects and classic dialogue.
Author
Time
I think a more accurate why of stating that is, "Because of the focus on getting the digital effects right, George hasn't spent as much time redrafting the script as before". That's my assessment, since all I hear about the making of the prequels is how much went into the effects.

"Anakin is a character that is in turmoil. But I really wanted to dazzle the audience with this new technological breakthrough, so I speant about 6 months on that and just had a digital stand-in for Hayden." - Lucas, from an interview months from now, I'm sure.

I disagree. Saying they have horrible dialog is your opinion. In my opinion the dialog is the same style of the original movies. Digital effects look more realistic to me then models. Model aliens look so still and lifeless. Digital technology moves in such a lifelike way that just seems more natural to me.

Tell me where, in any of the prequels, you get dialogue like Harrisson Ford's.

The PT dialogue sounds like it came from someone who's just started out writing. Taking down the first thing that comes to mind and not taking any time to find something less trite.

Wow, Jimbo grasped the concept of opinion. I disagree with his assessment, but this is an improvement. ^_^

New here. Hi.

I'm beating a dead horse here, but I swear I heard GL mention that Jabba originally was going to be human a while ago, but decided on making him an alien later on. I could be way off base with this, though. I'm looking into it to be sure.

...and then, in 2004, he replaced it with slightly improved, but still bad, CGI, yet again.

I don't see how the new Jabba could look any better. In some ways it looks better then The Phantom Menace Jabba. The old digital Jabba wasn't that bad either but it is one of Industrial Light and Magics less efforts.

No question that it is better than the TPM Jabba. I'm just waiting to see what changes he winds up making to his PT now that he's done more stuff to the OT. What do you think will change?
