I don't recall this being brought up, and I do not know if Ady has already filmed the new canyon shot, but would it make sense to add a slight glow to the walls from the Millennium Falcon's blue boosters?

New canyon shots are already complete.

Yeah, I think we may be at that stage where Ady has locked in all ideas for this thing. I could be wrong, but I feel he may be seeing the finish line.

Allow me to clarify that. The SHOOTING of the new canyon is complete. Integrating it into the film is still ongoing.

I don't have time to walk all the way downstairs to the kitchen, can someone tell me how soon we might expect dinner to be released?

It will be served when it's done.

Is ESB:R going to be available in both DVD and BluRay? if so, will there be differences among the versions? (beside the video quality)

 Yes.

The DVD will be as Adywan originally intended but will be at a low resolution and feature a sadly 'washed out' image. The Blu-Ray will be in full HD but will feature a new totally different colour-timing to the DVD, be heavily DNRd and Adywan will add in loads of extra changes that we all hate.

;-)

What? Full HD? I thought he was only releasing it in 720p

Check the batteries on your joke detector.

Just replaced 'em. Haha, up to speed now. I was so sleepy reading through that. All I saw was "full HD" and my brain woke up for a split second.

 To quote Lloyd Christmas:

"So you're saying there's a chance..." (to adding the light to the canyon wall I mean, no?)

Since you have all been patient, I have comparison pictures.

First the original Spaghetti (1977):

Spaghetti Revisited:

Soon I'll have pics of Spaghetti Revisited with green lasers.

(I'm really excited about ESB:REVISITED btw.)

Huh, that actually seems to be a perfect representation of what SW:R is all about. It also reminds me of a quote by Homer Simpson:

"You like ice cream don't you? Well, don't you like ice cream even better when it's toped with chocolate, and whipped cream, and chopped nuts, oh and those crumbled up cookie things they put on top?

"Mmmm... Crumbled up cookie things..."

Slow down! I haven't created the "crumbled up cookie things: Revisited" thread.

I imagine I missed this along the way but is AdY painting a new cover for EsBR?

I wouldn't get my hopes up. If shooting has already wrapped and it wasn't shot that way, it probably won't happen. I've done a bit of video production myself and, while it's not impossible, lighting effects like that will be MUCH harder to add in post-production than if they shot it that way to begin with. I agree, though - it would be cool and I hope they thought to include it. (No spoilers though, please)

There will be ONE cut of ESBR, as opposed to the AVI, DVD-5, and DVD-9 cuts of ANHR.

There will be several official versions released:

- Blu-Ray 720p BD-25
- DL DVD PAL
- DL DVD NTSC
- 720p mkv
- Special features DVD-5 (only needed for mkv & DVD version as all these will feature on the Blu-Ray)

Ok, good to know. I bought double disc cases assuming there would be a special features disc, but since it will be on the Blu-ray disc, I will use the second slot for the DVD version instead. I may look into 4+ blu-ray disc holder cases for the "Star Wars Begins," "Building Empire," and "Returning to Jedi" set. Does anyone know where I can find those? I saw some 4 disc holder cases on amazon.

Bags Unlimited has Blu Ray cases that can hold six discs.

If I distribute copies of this edit through Blu-ray/DVD discs in cases, could I sell them for the cost of the disc(s), Blu-ray case, and cost of shipping? Would it also be Ok for me to throw in a few additional bucks for the cost of labor?

 No, and hell no.

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Fan-edit-preservation-forum-rules-and-FAQ/forum/18/topic/5950/

Read it all.

Why should I be punished financially for distributing something that Lucasfilm should have done a long time ago for the cost of the DVDs and Blu-rays? We paid full price for half-ass releases of the movies.

I may just have to go against your word on distribution of these. There are many people who I know that would like this edit, but do not have Blu-ray burners, blank Blu-ray cases & discs, and do not know/are not interested in purchasing them and downloading and burning these edits themselves.

What are the penalties if caught distributing these for the cost of producing them on physical media, shipping, plus a few additional dollars for labor? I see people selling fan edits on amazon and ebay all the time. I have emailed some of them and some responded claiming it is legitimate if you just sell them for the cost of the physical media, shipping, and a few additional dollars for labor of making them. I found out that it may still be illegal and I emailed them back telling them that, and only one responded saying "they will take it under advisement."

One of them didn't outright say this, but gave me the impression that now that Star Wars is under ownership of Disney, it is legal to do so now. That is bullshit, correct?
