I dont know what thread you were reading, but in this thread i saw(aka this one) max two people making openly insulting statements, a couple of tongue in cheek cracks, and a whole lot of i think they misunderstood us posts. In life it is easy to ignore the 9 positive posts for the one negative. The proverb of "one bad apple ruins the bunch" isnt just nonsense, it holds truth. And the one of the truths presented by this saying is that people often remember the negactive experiences more clearly than vast majority of positive experiences. I.E. if you go to the same store often enough and recieve above par treatment you will have a plesent feeling of the place, but will probably not remeber it as good. However, the one time you have a negative experience the store is the worst place in the world. i think the same is true in these boards, a vast majority of the discussion is good, but small amount of negative leaves the stronger impression. (Especially if you have heard about the "crazies" on the boards, or have your mind made up prior). To any naysayer i challenge you to spend time here and openly and honestly evaluate the people here for a good length of time, what you find here just might surprise you. Besides how can you properly judge the lot of us based off a few minutes, hours, or days of posting?

Star Wars and strong emotion.

Star Wars isnt just a movie, it is and was the first cultural phenomenon of its kind. I like many other who grew up with it have been fans longer than our memories go back. When you buy into something with this much furver, as many of us have spending mind boggling amounts of time and money on it, it becomes almost a part of who we are. Then when somebody tells you that you opinion doesnt matter, and in your mind screws up that thing you are naturally inclined to be a little miffed. Do i think anyone on these boards wish GL death, or personal harm? No, of course not. They are passe little comments on a INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD, ment to convey the amount of disappointment and frustration many of us have due to the (miss)handling of these movies over the years. I would greatly perfer people getting off there high horses (on both sides) and realize that whether you are bashing GL or bashing others it is all the same. Further more, realize that this is the internet and all of the dialogue being had here should be taken with a grain of salt.

O-OT VS. SE and Beyond

In the end this is all a matter of opinion. The thing i hate is how one side seems to overwhelmingly judge the other when they actively due the same thing. Us purist are given this bad rap on the boards i have visisted, slighted and gossiped about for our strong views. But gushers do the same things we do just the opinion is different, but it is ok? Its like the ACLU and Christens... The ACLU spends all there time alienating Christians talking about how jusdgemental they are, and how unexceptable the faith is especially if they tell people something is wrong, when the whole time the ACLU is doing exact same thing, being judgemental and telling people they are wrong***.

Also please dont patronize me with the whole
