A list of things they shouldn't put in the new Godzilla movie:
That's pretty funny. I'm not too worried about 'Zilla '98 having any influence on Godzilla 2014 though. There's been 6 Godzilla films made since that one and 5 of 'em are really good. Besides, Gareth Edwards has proven to be an actual Godzilla fan, not just someone who sees a money-making opportunity and TOHO is accepting this one as cannon, which gives me much faith.
I bet he was given loads of creative freedom and control over the project - the first time he's dealing with a serious budget, btw - by the suits who handed him their $150 000 000 in order for him to make this movie.
He may be a fan and he may have talent, but that alone does not a good movie make. So far I can say that Edwards seems competent, his approach - in theory - is fine, and that the teaser was absolutely terrible and filled with atrocious CGI.
