There was a 6 hour cut of the Phantom Menace — Page 2

It was six hours long because a lot of things weren't explained clearly enough.

Such as...

Such as "What the hell is going on ?", "Why is that retarded cartoon character in a Star Wars movie? " etc.

The Phantom Menace: the Mysterious Cannes Version! And - and - and there's four extra hours worth of outbreaks in the Naboo Parliament! And there was an underground screening of it somewhere in London!

Well... okay, all that's an exaggeration, but I'm sure it'd be a noteworthy watch, wherever it is.

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Here's the deal: Matthew Wood said this. The same Matthew Wood who can't tell the surround channels apart, doesn't give a shit about the Force-fanfare and screamed his brain out at a parking lot just so he could get to play Alec Guinness playing a Krayt dragon.

"Mindblowingly awesome" is probably the least fitting description. I don't trust this man.

Wasn't it Matthew Wood who restored the Force fanfare to its original volume and corrected the stereo channels in the Death Star attack sequence?

Yeah, thought so.

I would be fascinated to see it.

I'm pretty sure we got the wrong 2hrs.

I've never seen any stills or productions shots of the filming at Hever Castle so maybe that's in there but maybe they only intended to film some architectural elements (like stairs for Naboo) there???

Hever Castle gardens are somewhat reminiscent of those deleted scenes from AOTC where Anakin meets Padme's family. That would be an interesting inclusion. Or an extended sequence where Qui-gon et al would sneak around trying to get to the main hangar in order to escape Naboo. But more likely it would have been used for elements.

JEDIT: Found this image of the castle grounds, looks mighty familiar to the look of Naboo:

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Maybe that's where they shot the Bongo scenes???

Yay!

Some of these locations would be interesting for fan editors keen on shooting new elements.

Here is a picture I took at Hever Castle. I tried to match the deleted scene.

I asked a guide in the castle if he knew anything about the filming and he did not have a clue what I was talking about. This fountain is at the far end of the grounds, away from the castle.

If you take the deleted scenes from the dvd and the blu ray, how much longer does that make the film?

Also during the blooper reel, there's a clip of something tripping and Jake and Natalie start laughing. It's a scene that was never included in the final cut.

Take back the trilogy. Execute Order '77
