It would be cool to have Jabba's Palace located on some kind of mining colony.

I think it would stir-up ideas in the minds of the audience about Jabba somehow exploiting the local workforce; tying-in with the whole "slave thing" he has going on already.

It could also suggest that the miners discovered the Sarlacc and just abandoned working near it after losing too many men.

His palace can be next to a huge quarry. C-3PO and R2-D2 can enter via a semi-hidden underground entrance located within the quarry.

This would require redoing all of the backgrounds, of course, but I think Ady is skilled enough to make it work. Thankfully, most of the shots for this part of the movie are indoors.
