I had meant to post an updated, but maybe I didn't again. Sometimes that page is confusing. Anyway, I'll change it and try it again.

And you know, I didn't realize in my hurried moves (I was at work fo 14.5 hours) that I had so effectively trapped your bishop. Oops, but cool, but sorry, but...okay, well, you had me nervous, but now I'm much more confident.

I realized it once I moved to that spot and knew the game would go downhill from there. You have a lot of good pieces you can drop onto the board, so I don't expect I'll last much longer.

I thought this might be interesting for you. It's the largest chess game ever invented, called taikyoku shogi. We could actually play it, though I have zero desire to do so.

Perhaps you mean to drop a Silver to 8b, in which case it is not immediately promoted but must wait till it moves. Or else you mean to move your promoted bishop to 8b?

I announced my Silver General drop in post 305. Then I took your knight with it and moved back the next turn. I don't have a promoted Bishop at the moment (the one that was there was eaten by your knight), and my un-promoted Bishop can't move there.

Aw, did I misread your moves?! Curses! Hold on, let me look over it for a minute.

JEDIT: Ah nuts, I'm tired and was misreading my Japanese characters and forgetting what happened. Sorry again. Do you mind if I take back my last move?

Thanks. I don't know why I thought you had a bishop. Like I said, I'm tired, as I almost always am, and that's only excuse I can come up with. I've been working a lot lately. Anyway...

Yeah, it's my favourite excuse too...except that I have little justification for using it most of the time.

Perhaps, but you are one tough egg to crack. I analyzed every possible outcome before having my bishop retreat, and though I could nearly checkmate you, I couldn't quite pull it off, and ultimately would lose material. I don't mind little sacrifices in chess, but in shogi every loss without a successful gain in position or getting closer to checkmate adds fuel to the furnaces that construct your armies. You're doing quite well, and I've probably never had so difficult a time breaking through against any player I've gone against.
