We need new terminology.
- My lesbian cousin has a biological daughter, who refers to my cousin and her ex-lifepartner as her 'moms.'
- The ex-life-partner has a biological child, conceived and birthed after she split up with my cousin.
- My cousin refers to her biological daughter, and her ex-partner's biological daughter as "sisters."
So who is this girl to me? How do I write about her in the family bible? "Third-Cousin-In-Law-By-Way-of-Former-Lesbian-Lifepartnership" seems too wordy.
I think an international conclave needs to be called to come up with new words to deal with this stuff.
