BTW, I suggest next game we try some shogi variants.  There are many interesting games, and the smaller games interest me in particular.  I could help you get the software you need to try them out, if you wish.  They are faster, but not simplistic, like I find mini-chess games to be.  I can also teach you chu shogi, a 12x12 variant that I've actually never played except against software, but I hear it's a great game.

Actually, the software you originally directed me to works really well for that, because there are several Shogi variants included as well as Chess and maybe Chinese Chess (I don't know what the proper name for it is, so I'm not sure).

You know, I had noticed the variants, but didn't notice how many there are in that software.  There are other games that I'd like to try with real humans, but that are not available through that software.  There's even a three player shogi game I've wanted to try.  It's supposed to be the best three player game around, as most suffer from the "petty diplomacy problem" (too lazy to find a link to describe that for you).  Perhaps in a bit we can try that game out, assuming I get the software to work (requires a 32 bit Windows emulator).  I'll happily teach you these other vairants once we're done with this game. :)

Sounds good. It would be nice if I could start up a game of Nimmaar (best described as four player chess--the goal of the game is to get your "President" to the center of the board) on this forum, but unfortunately only five hundred physical copies were made, so there aren't any computerized versions.
