Which makes me want a multi-region DVD player, in addition to getting the Japanese uncut Kill Bill V1 DVD...

Unless I am mistaken, R4 is NTSC. My in-laws are from Mexico so a lot of the DVDs they send me are either R4 or Region "1 y 4" and they are NTSC. Usually the main difference between what they get there in R4 and what we get in the states in R1 is that we cover English and French in NTSC where they cover English, Spanish and Portugese in NTSC.

I'll have to see if my brother-in-law picked up the set to see what he thinks.

As for getting a multi-region DVD player... your typical $20 to $40 DVD Player can easily be made multi-region by hacking via the remote. You might have a multi-region DVD Player at home already and don't realize it. The big guys like Toshiba and Sony use hard-wired region coding in their computer chips but the cheap guys usually just use codes keyed into "secret" menus to change the region so they can make one model and sell it everywhere. Go to VideoHelp.com and look up your player(s) to see what you can do.

Do yourself a favor and hack your player or buy a cheap player that can easily be hacked for multi-region..... I know you like "Army of Darkness"... you really need to get the R3 MGM release... it is the best there is
