I was expecting something about explosions.
You may hate the man's films but you gotta feel at least a little sorry for him after that...

mmmh.... naaaaahhh.
If you can't say a few words in public -and I mean really, a couple of words, the prompter fails? just bullshit your way through it! - you're no communicator, and in no position to be directing pictures worth gazillions of dollars. I may not have a cent in my pockets, but I'm laughing anyway.
I do feel bad for him because I can imagine how he would have felt, but I had to laugh, especially when he says he's going to wing it and all of a sudden you see a bunch of people in the audience take out their phones/cameras.
Leagally he's made to appear by contract. His problem is with the studios (which he cant say).
Walking off the stage just because the teleprompter malfunctioned? What a jerk.
btw what is his problem with the studios?
No way near as Epic as Bill O on inside edition when the teleprompter failed.
As much as a hate Bayformers i think IV with Marky Mark will sadly be a hit movie. And not a bomb in terms of boxoffice but probably as big a bomb a 1-3 with the critics.
Ninja Turtles i think will be a hit but it could be a really bad turkey like lone ranger or john carter.

I'm preeeeeetty sure that was stage fright. Without the teleprompter, he can't handle it, has no idea what to do, freaks out and bugs out.
I'm personally glad I've never seen any of the movies he's directed. It allows me to sleep easier at night.
That doesn't mean I don't want the Mafia to fit him with a pair of concrete shoes, though ;-)

That's not much better. In fact I'd argue it's worse.
I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.
Where were you in '77?
Turns out there is something I've seen that Mr. Bay directed I thought was good. Hell freezes over.

I'm hardly a fan of Bay's films, but I'm sympathetic here. It's hardly like Bay stormed off of the stage swearing or something, I think he just got stage fright and vapor-locked. And if the prompter went off, he might've been worried about saying the wrong thing and really messing up, and I don't think the people who were sponsoring him would've wanted him to say the wrong thing when they were paying him so much money. That being said, if he knew he was going to be speaking in public about a specific topic, be probably should've done some preparation about what he'd say. He really locked up, I do feel sorry for him, I think the guy asking about the curve even tried to steer him in the right direction, and be just totally froze. And it looks like he's issued a public apology too. He comes across as pretty abrasive sometimes, but don't think any of this was done in malice or anything, I think it was just bad luck. I probably would've gotten pretty severe stage fright too, I actually feel sympathy for him here.

That's pretty uncomfortable to watch, I have to admit. I'm not much a public speaker myself, and I have been forced into that a few times so I do get how he must've felt. The thing is, I've learned very quickly that if you're uncomfortable with these kinds of situations the best way to get through them is to improvise as much as you can, and from the very beginning. If you're reading or reciting whatever the hell you've memorized the evening or the hour before you will screw up at some point and when that happens it's highly unlikely you're going to get back on track because you'll be too distressed to be able to collect yourself and think straight. Be familiar with the points you need to hit, embrace the fact that you're feeling awkward and go from there. It doesn't make it fun, but it allows you to fulfill your obligation reasonably well and even not say stupid shit after some practice. Should be enough outside of elections and stuff like that.
... Just picture them in their underweeaaarr...
(can't believe I couldn't find one lousy video nor audio clip... I could've gone for a gif, even.)
I have no desire to see the newest TMNT film. Nothing like the good stuff from when I was growing up.
