^ That is a pretty "soft" definition of a reboot as you say.

In those terms, arguably Dalton's bond was more of a reboot that Brosnan. Dalton's bond was deadly serious (Yet still fun, unlike the Craig era) but Brosnan's bond always had a little of the old-skool camp and plumped-new-depths/reached-new-heights (Depending on your taste) of smutty innuendo.
