I watched the new DVDs on my friends 12 foot screen with 6.1 THX Certified Surround and if you have everything set correctly it sounds and looks better then ever. Sound is crisp, colors are vibrant and clear.

I also watched them on my system, smaller screen 5.1 surround and once again if you dont have it set up right it does have some sound errors, but set up properly they are barely noticable.

I agree, GL should make the originals on DVD but for now does not look good. I saw the original in the theater when I was 7 in 1977 and it was great. I watch the new 2004 edition now at 34 years old and I still love them. I have the OOT on VHS, 2 different Laser Disc versions, DVDR & the 1997 SE DVDs, I love the Originals and I also love the New ones. The changes are only couple minutes per film, not much at all for the enjoyment of what you are watching. Life is short, enjoy it while you can. Watch Star Wars while you can.
