Just for fun, let's pretend I have a book called the Koran.  Allah spoke to man years and years and years ago, and proclaimed that all must follow the Koran.  The Koran specifically says that Catholicism is a false religion and any who follow it are doomed to eternity in hell.  Further, it is my duty as a chosen Muslim to convince Catholics that they are wrong and living against the wishes of Allah .  I am utterly convinced in the word of my Allah as recorded in the Koran.

fixed it for a real religion.   If I worked on TV and talked bad about this religion, I could get fired.

Define "talked bad."  And don't link me to a definition of the two words.  What would you consider talking bad about religion?  What could I say on TV about Christians that would be fine but if I said it about Muslims I would get fired?

What do you think would happen if there were Muslim football player that prayed to Allah whenever he scored a touchdown, and so one on TV made fun of him for it?    Tim Tebow was made fun of all the time for praying to God after scoring touchdowns, and it was deemed perfectly acceptable.

But regardless, my point stands in that Christians are the majority here.  Muslims are a minority.  I think Muslims in this country have enough to deal with as it is.  For example...do you wear a cross?  If so, do most people look at you funny for wearing it?

Some people might.  What do you think would happen if I went on Bill Maher's TV show wearing a cross?   I think him and some of his guess would give me funny looks.

keep saying that, I am sure that makes everything right . . . not.

I agree with Frink that relatively speaking it's a non-issue, but I also agree with Warbler that it is still wrong, and generally speaking it is more acceptable for someone to make fun of Christians than, say, Muslims.

I'm not defending it, I'm saying you shouldn't care.  Why is it such a big deal when people criticize Tebow for praying on the field?  So what?

Anyone who makes a public show of prayer during something as silly and meaningless as a football game deserves mocking anyway.  God and/or Jesus are not interested in your touchdown run.

I think his point is more that if a Muslim did the same thing, he would be able to get away with it without being mocked. I think he's pointing out that Christians can be mocked a lot more than Muslims can before there are consequences for the mocker.

I understand that, but again, so what?  That's why I keep calling it a first world problem - you Christians should be able to handle a little mockery, it goes with the territory of being a majority (again, at least in the US).

I'm straight.  Should it really bother me if a gay person on TV calls a straight person a straitey?

Royal pardon for codebreaker Alan Turing

About bloody time! He only helped save the world from evil and fathered the computer age. It was shameful what my country did to him.

No apology can make up for what they did to him.

I know sticking a nail in an outlet is wrong because I know the consequences.  You think you know the consequences of homosexual sex, but it's nothing more than an opinion.

The most interesting analogy I've heard on the topic.

Like I've said many times. Tolerance is a double-edged sword. If you want the Christian community to tolerate the gay community, you've got to tolerate that most Christians believe the act of gay sex to be wrong.

I agree with this sentiment, but I don't think A&E's problem with Roberson was that he said the homosexuality is sin, but that he compared it to bestiality.

To be fair, he was not so much "comparing," as listing homosexuality as one of many sins (including heterosexual promiscuity). You've previously expressed acceptance of your church's teachings against homosexuality. There is debate about the true biblical position on the topic. A usual objection to equating bestiality and homosexuality is one of consent, but the bible addresses less legal concerns.

Anyway, Merry Christmas!

To quote a beloved villian, "Fear will keep the local systems in line, fear of this (insert your own PR Management machine here)", it's all about the fear.

Oh my god, you said the "gay" word or damn even though you're my good friend you don't agree with homosexual intercourse, you bigot you, you're a hater.  Maybe, what you believe god really said that?  You're a homophobe.

We all have a right to an opinion, the problem lies in Political Correctness and the gains from crying wolf from people who believe they are entitled due to their specific belief or way of life.

It sucks.
