Okay, how about words that are slang in another country but not used in the one you currently live?  Should a person who does not know it as you know it be subject to torment and hatred because they said it?

Example, the word "turd-burglar" ..... apparently in the U.K. this is not a term of endearment towards homosexuals.  In the U.S. however, it might have been something you said to a close friend when trading humorous insults.  In fact, McDonalds had a character called the "Ham-burglar" yet as a kid I remember friends changing it to "turd-burglar" just because it was kids being kids.

So, is "turd-burglar" actually a homophobic slur or a word kids spoke when they were younger who thought farts were funny too?
