You mean, he decides he's in love with a guy despite the fact that he lives in a country where that love is crime. A decision that will see him beaten, tortured, raped, ostracised by his family, forced to seek refuge in another country or publically executed then he's made a pretty dumb choice!

        Oops, I didn't get the point across very well.

        A carnival geek might have been born with a hightened response to risk-taking behavior (rush of adrinalin?). This discussion is always best avoided if you don't want to lose friends. Both sides of the fence will not change. I'm not saying they need to scrap their beliefs, we should just end the violence surrounding it. We can't disagree without a fight these days.

It's like pretending racism is over. If you think racism is gone, you live in a cave. Sexism is strong, on both fronts as well.

I could care less if you don't agree with me. I'd hate myself for being politically correct these days.

I firmly believe people are either born gay, or become that way after an event changes them. I've had friends I remember in grade school that had came out of the closet as an adult, and in hindsight, I think "That makes a lot of sense."

Do I agree with homosexual sex? No. Is it my place to tell somebody they can't have sex? NOT AT ALL.

As long as I have the right to believe what I believe, I'm a happy camper. Not gonna stone somebody else for what they believe.

I think people are born homosexual or heterosexual but can exhibit behavior of the either orientation for various psychological reasons. I wish there weren't all the campaigns and insistence upon a monolithic "community" (a feeling not limited to this topic btw). When it comes to sexuality I don't think it necessary (I'm sure there is a better word) to indulge every errant thought one may or may not have. People should respect others but they do have the right to avoid associations they find unhealthy. Though I agree with xhonzi that it is better to have tolerance of those with different views. I've always been naturally tolerant (Warbler would be laughing were he able [a joke, Mr. Warbler]) and I find it unfortunate when people shun others for not being sufficiently supportive of their worldview.

Closely related to this, when it comes to transgendered folks, I found it awkward that they are legally considered male or female (depending on which change is made), even though genetically they are the sex they started with before the change.  I prefer tolerance because everyone has a right to find what makes them happiest. 

I knew a guy who made the transition to female and then told us she was a lesbian ..... isn't that kinda weird?  Why become a woman to like women when he could have done it as a man?

Because what sex you're attracted to has no bearing on what sex you want to belong to.

Shouldn't it be more important, that people stop hurting each other, instead of discuss points of view or believe?

Some People think that homosexuality is bad, either because they believe it is a sin, or because they are afraid or something like that regarding homosexuality.

Others belive it is as normal as being straight.

Well, in my opinion: The most important point is loving somebody, no matter if it is not the same, or the same sex.

Additionally it is important not to harm anyone. So, if heterosexual or homosexual, or bisexual or whatever, it may not be the persons choice what he/she desire, but it is up to her/him, if somebody is harmed.

To the equality rights: Where are the rights of freedom, when there is a more than one class society, just because of such things as sexuality or religion?

Maybe someone has not to agree with the believe that homosexual couples should have the same rights as heterosexual, but giving them the rights, won't cut the rights of the disbeliefer. It just won't meet his personal believes, but it will keep his own rights untouched.

And specially for the americans, I'll just post a quote from the fourteenth amendement to the United States Constitution:

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

It is not "All heterosexuals born or..." etc.

but it states "equal protection of the laws".

 I didn't even say it that way. Now I think you are just trying to find something wrong in everything I said. I do not agree with homosexual acts, but I do not hate a person for it. Is that hard to understand?

It's almost like you're hoping to expose some underlying bigotry. My beliefs do not support homosexual acts, am I supposed to throw away my beliefs to become politically correct? To tolerate doesn't mean to support. Why don't people understand the difference?

Don't worry, I think Frink just has trouble wrapping his head around the idea that a person can disagree with homosexual acts and still like homosexual people (even if they engage in such acts).
