Just tried slowing Swiss Family Robinson using Uncropmkv. It was a fail. Only 30 minutes of the 2hr. movie was encoded. The sound was in sync though. I was not impressed with the image quality. The frame rate was a little weird. It looked unnatural. I am running Windows 8 64bit which I heard could be problematic with this software. I will be sticking with Ripbot264. It has proven to be very reliable and produces super high quality encodes if you know how to set it up properly.

I'm just thinking out loud here about STII ..... technically, the theatrical version could be re-created using footage from the 2 disc DVD set.  Of course, that footage would have to be touched up a bit maybe to match the HDTV footage.

Wouldn't it be more prudent to just use the footage from the BD but color-corrected to match? I'd definitely be interested if these were re-up'ed to a torrent eventually... myspleen maybe? :)

If the BD has DNR and the HDTV cap/ DVD does not, which would you go with?  As for the uploading to myspleen, I don't know if it would be possible.  Since I don't see the SW HDTV caps there I would guess these wouldn't be allowable either.  They would have to go up elsewhere.

Actually, Jetrell Fo, Star Trek 2 is the one Trek Blu-ray that doesn't suffer from excess DNR just revisionist color timing. It is way too blue.

Did Nicholas Meyers supervise the change?  I for one am just working on trying to get these downloaded and sorted since a lot of folks don't have newsgroup access.  It takes time and patience.

I have had to use quickpar on at least 2 of the movies but they fixed any missing block issues.  Usenetserver freeking rocks when it comes to such complete retention for up's so old but I pay for that access.

I am going to go through the movies briefly just to make sure they all have their own folders and partial info files.  Then we can start working on getting them fixed up and figure out where the best place to host them would be so that everyone can download them freely without complaint that they might be left out.

Sorry, its been a tough week and Wisconsin is getting hammered heavily right now with snow.  I don't want to rush this and screw it up.

Jetrell, it's possible to split each movie in small chunks and use for example sendspace or mega, instead of torrent... what about ep. 10?

I won't do sendspace or mega for these.  If I have to I will private torrent them 1 at a time.  I'm a patient guy but I will not go through what Harmy, TeamBlu, and others do, i.e. "are we there yet?  are we there yet?" stuff.

If people can pay for internet service paying $3.00 for 3 days of usenetserver service shouldn't be an issue.  One might have to learn how to set up a free newsreader program but it isn't hard and there are people here to help.  I've done it just for these as a matter of fact, by myself.  I had little choice if I wanted them soon.

As for Nemesis, it is out there but it is apparently far too old to possibly retrieve.

I've had great results using Handbrake to convert various frame rate mkv's to 23.976 and that's after having problems trying to use Uncropmkv, which caused image drag and blur.  Very strange.  I see no loss in quality using Handbrake.  It does a great job with the audio as well.

Thanks for the heads up.  At this point, the audio doesn't concern me.  It can be replaced.  It's the video that I need to be compliant to NTSC so the audio can be worked in.

The first 6 movies have only the DD 5.1 which can be retrieved from the 2 Disc DVD collection (minus The Motion Picture of course) as it is the theatrical version and I believe I already have pcm ld audio for it.  Movies 7 through 9 carry the DTS from the 2 Disc collectors edition plus commentary tracks.  These also can be replaced.  We do have cinema DTS for movies 7 through 9 but they will need to be synched properly.

I don't want to sacrifice video quality so that is most important.

Uncropmkv?  Are you loading the same mkv every time?  There could be something wrong with just that mkv.  Out of the TONS of mkv's I've opened in uncropmkv only a few haven't worked.  I just assumed something was wrong those files.  If that isn't it maybe you should update FFdshow and Haali Media Splitter.  Oh, and make sure avisynth 2.58 is installed.

It might still be possible.  If you really want it you can use a news client like "Forte Agent" and retrieve files that are much older than what you can find on nzbclub.  I have usenetserver too and agree that it does rock and with it and forte agent I have been able to download extremely old files.

Is that how old Nemesis is?  I'm not sure, I just know from experience I was able to download files from alt.binaries.starwars (using forte agent)  that were too old for nzb search engines.

As far as I can tell, Skyhd never broadcast Nemesis or it could be that it was never uploaded. The only copy's that exist on usenet were domestic captures that date back 6-7 years. As near as I can tell they have glitches or at least some of them do. I have given up my pursuit in finding a high quality 1080i of this film. If you want to try to locate a copy Stretch search for Nemesis 1080i. They were not hiding file names back then.

I have TMP, TUC and FC in full hd resolution on my hard drive, downloaded it years ago. It's from an HBO broadast, as far as I remember.

I had registered to the newsgroups for a test period only, just to get those movies. I'm not in there anymore, and I only remember very vaguely how it works.

But I could try to upload it somewhere else. Am I allowed to upload such material on myspleen? Or is there any other place I could upload the movies safely?

P.S. TMP looks like upscaled SD, so I don't think it would be worth much to anyone. TUC looks somewhat better, and FC looks like true HD.I
