The point was to try to restore the theatrical color timing using the BD (at least for TPM). The TB, DVD, LD and VHS versions have the "pink" filter and are all cropped.
I'm sure Andrea understood you perfectly. He's only trying to help out. I don't think he meant anything bad by it, lol.
