I don't know.  That is what I wanted to ascertain by comparison.  I can always fall back on my trusty single and double disc DVD versions but I figured I would get curious.

:)

I found this ..... so apparently some were done.  I think SkyHD broadcast some of these as did Charter.

I have the Star Trek Movies 1-6 SkyHD caps. They are h264 with Dolby Digital 5.1. Unlike the Blu-ray's, they don't suffer from DNR and IMO have the original theatrical colors.

Do they have any logos on the video? I would love to get these if it is possible.

Do you have info on them?  Are these the 4.3GB versions I saw but didn't have any seeders for snatching?

I would be interested in seeing what the color timing is on the HDTV release of Star Trek II.

The blu ray is restored from the negative.

Are there screenshots of the color of the uniforms Kirk and his crew wear?

In the blu ray some shots are almost orange or brown like the source the negative was faded.

While some of the earlier home video versions had the film overly red with the colors blown out but the uniforms were red.

Sadly, there aren't a lot of shots from the different HDTV versions even though there is a lot of discussion about what people like or don't.

The fact that they made Spock's death scene so blue in the blu ray is inexcusable if it was not that way on theatrical prints.

But without an actually source to back that up who can say if that scene was always so white.

I think Lowry is the culprit for the blue cast.  But i cannot prove it.

No. These are of very high quality and about 13-16 gigs each. They are apparently still available on Usenet although about 1600 days old so you will need a provider with a long retention. PM me for the file names and the passwords.

I'm guessing there are no caps for 7,8,9?  From what I can see Sky showed them but only 6 caps are available.

Bummer.

I have some great news guys! 7,8, and 9 are, in fact, available on Usenet.:) Again, they are over 1600 days old so you will need a bad ass provider. PM me for the file names. They have no password this time.
