I would if you didn't post so damned many of them and actually got off your backside and finished a project once in a while. :p :D :-)

(Yes.  I realized you were joking.)

Hey, I AM multitasking... an old model, I must admit, but still capable to follow three or more projects at the same time... well, sort of... (^^,)

Sure, a new HDD (or two) and the *resurrection* of my other two PCs will help me to start, make, and finish more projects than ever... hope to upgrade ASAP, then you will see... I posted into my projects thread only the ones I could follow in the very near future... "I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe..." (-^,)

 PROJECT UPDATE

German soundtrack will be soon available; italian *probably* will be available tomorrow.... spanish is the only missing one...

Andrea, delete some PMs, so I can send you another one.  I'm glad you found the Italian track.  Did you take it from a DVD?  It's kind of funny that you were looking for that one.

PMs deleted.

Yes, I know it's funny, but with I have a huge laserdisc collection, but a small (in comparison) DVD and BD one... so, I'm afraid I have no Halloween DVD or BD (yet), but maybe tomorrow I'll be able to grab a DVD... maybe... keep fingers crossed!

 PROJECT UPDATE

ALL soundtracks found; all subtitles found EXCEPT german... so, for completion's sake, I'd like to find the last missing subtitle file - .srt will be better... I should only fix a bit the other subtitles - hope to finish this evening; after the german subtitles will be into my HDD, I will release it in few days - the tim my old PC will take to process the video...

612 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn used to be a game bar, and on Thursdays they would screen films in the back. One night just before Hallowe'en, they screened a pretty good 16 millimeter print of Halloween. It was the first time I'd ever seen the film in scope (the Criterion laserdisc would not come out until the following year) and between discovering the effective use of the Panavision frame and seeing the film with an audience, which is always an advantage, especially with horror films — not to mention the fact that, being in a bar, I was able to drink a few glasses of wine over the course of the film — made it one of my more memorable cinema experiences.

I am looking forward to this presentation with great relish.

Yes indeed, this will be a fine addition to my collection once it's ready.  Michael Meyers was a great part of my childhood.  He used to bring me dead birds for lunch, LOL

I am excited.

Really looking forward to seeing this... thanks for all the hard work on this project, Andrea.  Very exciting to finally see the THX in HD with such a detailed transfer.  Really great news.

HELP NEEDED!

Before this project, I used TSmuxeR to mux audio/video/subtitles.

Now, after Chewtobacca pointed me to EasyBD Lite, I decided to use this, as it should be 100% compliant while TSmuxeR could be not.

The only problem is that EBD Lite doesn't accept .srt subtitles... I converted them with EasySUP and GoSUP, but often the subtitles appears for less than a second, and they are unreadable... the .srt files have all the right timing, so it's not their problems...

Now, I need a subtitle program that could convert .srt to .sup; any help will be appreciated!

If I will find no suitable program, or the problem will arise again with the new one, I'll mux the program with the newest version of TSmuxeR - as until now, it worked well even with the old version.

Thanks to everyone!

Probably I found the problem... I tested both .srt and converted .sup subtitles with TSmuxeR, and even there many of them lasts less than a second; so the problem doesn't lie into the .sup converted files, but in the original .srt.

I checked the "guilty" subtitles, and discovered they are spaced at 35ms from the others; I guess I should increase the "distance" of them, maybe at 50ms or even more... I'll test further, and almost surely I'll release it tomorrow...

use easysup. it's far better then tsmuxer to transfer srt to sup files. much more options and you get a graphical feedback.

PROJECT RELEASED!

This time I added at the beginning a video logo and a disclaimer - as separate file, of course; the movie has the BD chapters, and maybe I will work to a BD cover... next step (for future projects): BD menus.

ENJOY!

Hi Andrea,

you stated in your post that you have the

  • German AC3 192kbps mono soundtrack

on the disc. But you also thank

  • Chewtobacca, for the DTS 2.0 german soundtrack

So my simple question: Where is it? ;)

The DTS 2.0 german soundtrack has some problems at the beginning; so I used the PCM mono german DVD track to replace the problematic part; however, the original theatrical soundtrack was mono, so the DTS 2.0 was obviously a remix... as I wanted all soundtracks to be as close as possible to the original version, I converted it to mono too; also, french, spanish and italian soundtracks were of lower quality in comparsion, so I preferred to lower the quality of the german one to be on par with the others - including commentaries... I left only the english soundtrack and isolated score from the laserdisc in PCM, as they are the best in quality.

This is my personal choice; however, if someone would like to obtain the german DTS 2.0 soundtrack to mux it with the final project, post your request here. Or, everyone is free to mux another multichannel soundtrack, but IMHO the original gritty and harsh soundtrack is the best option! (^^,)

Thanks for the explaination.

So the german mono mix is a convert of the DTS 2.0?

Did I get that right?
