Also (this may have been discussed), but considering how the original beam from the dish cannon(s) had a multi-hued beam, I assume they are mini ion guns? If so, should their beams be more blue along with the large ion cannon? I could see the possibility of seeing the dish laser blast bounce off the knee, or the ion electricity moving around the knee but with no effect.

They always looked different than regular lasers, it looks like the dish is charging before shooting so yeah, I'm all for the idea of making them look as mini ion canons with blue hue beams. Love it!
