The link supplied isn't working for me.
I remember one year I had no money at all because I had just moved but in my new shed I found some chicken wire and in the decorations bin at work I found some broken lights (the bulbs lit up but the surrounds were broken so they weren't being used).
They were also chucking dozens of software CDs so I made a cone out of the chicken wire, spiraled the lights down the cone and backed each light with shiny side outward facing CD.
The result was an instant abstract Christmas tree.
